  1. I did buy the service. I hope to not use it! Insurance..
  2. Mackinac Island is on our list near the top! Shouldn't be too hard, as we're in central Michigan!
  3. I went ahead and bought the service. Peace of mind.
  4. Makes sense once you're used to flying it. For a newbie like me, I ended up fighting the PC most of the day.
  5. I was actually shocked that I knew something about a Mooney that Matt didn't know!
  6. The credit goes to the previous owner of N22VA, who showed it to the pilot who showed it me when we went up to do the in flight pre-buy. Take the wing leveler button and pry it out of the yoke about a quarter inch. It breaks the suction and, viola! No fighting the wing leveler. Push it back in, and it works like new! I'll post a pic or two, next time I go fly. Be careful, so you don't pop the button completely off.
  7. Thanks Matt, I learned a lot today! Are you going to share our technique on the wing leveler?
  8. Jason.. picking up the plane today (Monday). I was on a trip. Missed y'all at 6D6 Roy
  9. Paul, just curious- do you have portable or onboard O2?
  10. I'm seriously considering this service. $149 a year. Peace of mind- priceless.
  11. Hey M15u, let me know the next time you're in the area. I live in Belding. Supposed to complete my purchase of N22VA and fly her home Monday to 6D6 :D

  12. I'm not sure I can afford to have Matt look at my plane! He'll have enough "suggested tweaks" to put me in the poor house! Looking forward to bringing it over to C77 for a look over! Hope to see ya Monday!
  13. Anybody use this service? It seems reasonably priced. http://www.sportys.com/pilotshop/sporty-s-breakdown-assistance-program.html $149 a year for some peace of mind. Thoughts?
  14. I thought about this from Sportys, but it's pricey: http://www.sportys.com/pilotshop/robotow-heavy-duty-cordless-towbar.html?utm_source=google_shopping&m=simple&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Owner+Supplies&adpos=1o1&creative=74939067982&device=t&matchtype=&network=s&gclid=CjwKEAjwlKLHBRDztKr6wMnRthMSJAALcT-sNfB0boBqXfuGfDWntM8KM5BmR4w8Rmvx-JhKMmU90hoCt3_w_wcB Thoughts? I don't have a tractor or welding skills
  15. Personally, I'd be hittting dad up for partnership in the Lanceair!
  16. I used NW Flyers for my pre-buy. Gene was straight forward and took me around the M20E I'm buying. I am supposed to pick it up Monday?
  17. MM: Is it bad form to ask how much? If so, apologies! If not, how much (approx) was the engine, and how much for install (approx). Not idle curiosity on my part- I should close Monday on N22VA and the engine has 1550hours (TBO 2000) Thanks!
  18. Ok so the obvious question- from a newbie- is: How much did this cost, and how much will it cost to install? TIA
  19. Tom, I've been following your Lancair thread. Beautiful airplane!
  20. I know several are from Michigan. What field are you based at? I have a "bucket list" to do at least one touch-n-go at every Michigan airport in my soon-to-be Mooney. Scheduled to take deliver 4-10-17 as long as oil analysis and avionics checkout are good. It's been very well taken care of, so I foresee no problems. 6D6 - Greenville Muni - is where I'll be based.
  21. Mother Rucker as a student 1988-89 Again as an instructor at Cobra Hall 1992-94. Now a FO for Southwest. Just bought my first Mooney, too. Hope to take delivery in a week or so. Welcome!
