  2. Powertow 40 in nice condition, been sitting and hardly used. Not set up for Mooney but extensions available from Powertow folks for 170. 1100.00 but You have to come get it KJLN, airport closed July 22 - Aug 2 alternate KPTS PM me for more information
  3. Lower cowl not complete, shipping gonna be at your cost 300. OBO
  4. Good set , nice condition 260 shipped OBO
  5. Square or rectangIe? I would like to see a picure of what you have.
  6. Speak your mind patriot!! Free speach also applies on MS, or at least I thought so.
  7. I did not get an increase in the past 3-4 years except a hull value increase that I requested, waiting right now on new rate quote from AOPA (assured Partners) hope its a good one
  8. 10 inches matters! Just ask. Whats your TO speed? Whats your landing speed? Have you practiced a full nose up trim go around( runaway trim if electric) If not try it at altitude. if your using flaps for take off where is your trim? Its going to be close to the same location for landing with to flaps. How is your rigging? I would suggest slow flight with any flap positiion you want. Power off Stall pratice with all flap settings ( check trim location during slow flight) if you dont have trim available for slow flight then check your rigging idle power desent 10 MPH above stall speed check trim, do you run out of trim? wait till engine break in time is over for this
  9. My vote is for pushrod seal leak or valve cover leak , but yes put in new or newly annealed copper every time you install plugs
  10. I have own a few of those, I sure wish the quality was a little better as I seem to break them.
  11. Sorry, I have been gone and didnt see the question. Looks like turbo answered it for you.
  12. I would have gone to take a look as I am out of KJLN but I am on a motorcycle ride for the next few weeks , I do knoow someone at M17, I will get his info and forward it to you if you want (might take a day)
  13. How about almost 11 hours in a 67F at older 172 speeds and 150 fuel burn. I think someone should try it
  14. I would also say the door seal, wing/ fuselage duct tape under fairing, baggage door seal last, probably not the slip joints.
  15. Dont forget to clean and lube the chain behind the trim wheel, it can get very stiff
  16. I once read the ASA dots are to be replaced every 30 days as they are not reliable after that. not sure if that still holds. With an electronic detector on the ground with a tail wind you could get a high reading, but inflight you would want a very low number, the closer you are to 0 the better you are, pressure test your exhaust system, look visually for the leak, small cracks turn into bigger ones, loose connections get looser. Its there, you just gotta find it before it becomes a number that puts you to sleep An old friend of mine and his wife took off and both woke up in a field after the crash several miles form the airport( strange but upright, both survived, no major injuries) He did not remember anything after starting the take off.
  17. That sheet give F model gear speed of 114KIAS/ 131 mph, Poh states 120 Mph cas/ 104 kts. I would like an addition 10 kts for the gear
  18. I would say after you decide you want to pay the insurance and devote yourself to getting your PPL, go take a few flights in the Mooney, with a qualified instructor, with proper feedback from your real mooney instructor and you being a realist, you will be able to make the choice. Lots of factors , money, maintenance, your age, your abilities, location, instuctor qualifications. during PPL training you will need some airplane forgiveness, in my opinion a Mooney is just not as forgiving as a C or P trainer.
  19. Here it is, what everyone needs! 90 shipped

  23. Here is the spring info (#11) just incase you want it
  24. I got this one 100 shipped
  25. There is a small coiled steel spring to help witht the extension, they do break. As Jamesm stated! Do the takiar mod, reasonable cost, its easy to install , works great, removes a servo from your system(less leak locations). I connected mine to the beacon, beacon on step up, beacon off step down.
