  1. Thanks for doing this! On the 'top' face make it: PUSH ON And on the 'bottom' face make it: ELEV TRIM And/or: NAV LITE
  2. If you look at the Mooney web site, they offer only one or the other as an option. Temporary comfort on the ground is no reason to sacrifice safety. If the OAT is too hot, climb a little higher. BTW, I have had icing in FL, too!
  3. This one is slightly older, but a bargain in comparison: http://www.trade-a-plane.com/search?category_level1=Single+Engine+Piston&make=MOONEY&model=ACCLAIM+TYPE+S&listing_id=2197288&s-type=aircraft You should get a discount on the sales price for leaving the advertising in place. The only thing I cannot figure out is why you would have A/C but not TKS ice protection?
  4. They fit fine in my J. The nylon parts will be more durable and less prone to breaking.
  5. The dual extruder prints still left something to be desired. I used black and white PLA to print these covers. I was hoping the 'black-lettered' version would not lose so much detail as does the recessed version of the lettering. I also used some black fingernail polish on the one, which does fill the lettering better, but still not as nice as I would like it to be. Chocks, I will send you a few with no lettering so you can try the engraving. The nylon ones will probably be best, and they can be dyed any color.
  6. The poll only has these two answers: Yes or No. You forgot one: WGAS! or IDNGAS!
  7. Nothing is ever 100% pure. Your avgas contains trace amounts, (or more), of water; we all know that. It also contains very small amounts of acids, salts, etc. Over time, these can build up on surfaces inside your tank, react with the water, and very slowly do damage. BTW, do you know the FDA limits on rodent feces in your corn flakes? Do you want to know?
  8. My 1978 J tanks were resealed before I bought it. They just went out of warranty; no leaks.
  9. I have been fiddlefucking with my dual extruder addition for way too long, trying to get it to work correctly. I think I am getting close to having it done. Once I am, I plan to print white switches with black lettering embedded, which I think will be the best solution. Standby for more...
  10. My problem is on my right calf. That middle thing pokes the crap out of me! I just completed a 4 hour solo trip from Texas, and I found it best to slide the seat back and put my right leg in the copilot leg-way. I used to fly my C-152 like this: Left foot on the pilot's left rudder pedal, right foot on the copilot's right rudder pedal.
  11. What color(s) do you want to try? What material? I have ABS, PLA, PETG, Nylon, CF-ABS, GF-PETG, and CF-Nylon.
  12. See this link: https://markforged.com/introducing-markforged-high-temperature-materials/
  13. Most injection molds cost $10,000-$15,000, unless you have a hand press, in which case I might be able to print a mold for one of those.
  14. I am testing a dual extruder printer that may do a much better job. I plan to replace my whole set with new prints and will also sell the old ones. Standby for more...
  15. My dad has said he might quit flying when he can no longer get his T-210 in/out of the hangar. He pushes it himself, but he is a young guy, only 85.
  16. I have been considering such an upgrade. Do you mind saying who did your installation and for how much?
  17. ME ATP as of 1 July 2016!
  18. What kind of printer did you use? Was the print orientation on its side, as shown?
  19. PLA is more brittle than ABS and has a lower melting temperature, but still in the neighborhood of 170 C. It can warp badly in a hot airplane. My first ADS-B box distorted a lot just sitting on my glare shield in the sun.
  20. Stratux is a great way to go! This one was around $100, including the case I printed.
  21. I guarantee this is only a temporary fix. Heat and cold will undo the tape, sooner or later. It may fail at an extremely inconvenient time.
  22. Not even close... You ever smell a durian? How about the exhaust from a maladjusted 2-stroke coming from a broken urinal?
  23. I had a similar problem; fixed this last annual for about $420. "Problem: Fuel flow inoperative, transducer leaking fuel. Action Taken: Removed inoperable and leaking fuel flow transducer P/N FLOSCAN 201B-6 and installed new transducer P/N FLOSCAN 201B-6 referencing Mooney M20J Maintenance Manual Chapter 28-40."
  24. How do you start the conversation? "Hi. I'm the guy who just saved your life."(?)
  25. My co-owner and I with our new purchase, circa December 2015.
