  1. Mike, I am just up the road from you. You are welcome to use my homemade flap/aileron board to check your rigging. I dont have the elevator or rudder boards. My mechanic is out of town till July working on 737's but he rigged mine and did a great job. I'm sure he would be happy to do yours if you find them out of rig. Steve
  2. I have been working on recreating one from an original. I was able to get the shape done in CAD and had one cut out of 1/4" aluminum on a waterjet. The difficult part is getting the degree markings transferred to the board. The guy at the shop thinks he can get the measurements into the CAD program but it will take some trial and error. If he can, they can be cut in by the waterjet. At this point I have a couple hundred bucks into the Aileron/flap board. I used a sharpie for the markings.
  3. I have a vhs in the closet, I'm saving it because I figure since vinyl came back into style, the next big thing will probably be vhs. Gotta find a nice 8 track player too. Now I see millenials wearing AC/DC, Hendrix and Rolling Stones t shirts. I had the originals, who would have thunk it?
  4. How about a shout out to GSXR @gsxrpilot for that map? How cool is it to see the geographic representation of our network.
  5. The Huskie has that same warning on the side, "warning approach from front". I wonder what that is about? I think I'll get some T-shirts made with that warning on the back.
  6. Just listed one in Avionics for sale forum.
  7. Hello Mooney Spacers, I'm selling my Stratus 2 ADS-B in, traffic and weather system. It comes with a ram mount, the tray mount and an external antenna. This is an amazing piece of equipment when paired to your iPad. I love this unit but installed a Lynx 9000 ADS-B in/out which feeds my iPad now. $550 PayPal preferred. PM me. Thanks, Steve
  8. Excellent video, thanks for posting. That is one awesome machine.
  9. My thoughts exactly.
  10. Saw this today and wanted to share with you guys. I drove past then saw the dual rotors and had to get a pic. Anyone else have any pics of unusual AC?
  11. Oh yeah that's right. It's been awhile. LOL
  12. She would definitely have a cameo appearance which would open the door for a Top Gun Trilogy.
  13. I can already see the potential here...The aging Maverick has attained Captain status with United, after retiring from the Air Force Navy with a nice pension. On a transcontinental flight, an unruly passenger defiantly keeps his electronic device on and hacks the navigation system which puts the 747 over North Korean airspace. Tom uses his top gun skills in a dog fight with Kim Jong Un and ejects the troublemaking passenger using him as a human missle to down Un's MiG. Mav does the celebratory buzzing of the tower and is put on administrative leave pending an investigation. He then wins the heart of the FAA official, a recently divorced mother of three, marries and retires to South Florida and buys a Corvette and a Harley.
  14. I keep my Icy Breeze on the charger in the hangar and a Yeti in my SUV. Buy cheap ice on my way to hangar, put Icy Breeze in baggage area then add ice and water. I purchased a 3 foot length of hose from the auto parts store that fits over the outlet hose in my portable AC. Syphon water at the end of flight and remove Icy Breeze. It's impossible to remove the cooler from baggage area without spilling water so the syphon hose is mandatory.
  15. So sorry to see that. You might want to touch base with LJ at Zephyr. Keep us posted on your findings.
  16. Ok, so one down, now when can I drop off my "F"?
  17. I fly about 125 hours a year, try to keep changes at 25 hours but have gone to 33. New filter and Blackstone analysis each change. Having been at the CamGuard presentation at Mooney Summit 2016, I use Aeroshell W100 and CamGuard. Longer intervals and synthetic oil with our late model cars does not apply to aviation engines with loose tolerances.
  18. I had a VC compass installed a few months ago. I like it as it is similar to the DG for partial panel instrument flying, but it is out of calibration. I believe I am going to need the compensation balls to get it right.
  19. I saw you land. You were the last one in then they shut down the field.
  20. Hey, I like your town. Had a great lunch at The Grille on Congress. Lots of really nice cars running around town.
  21. Sweet, I would have said Hi if I saw your Mooney. They had the runway closed for about 45 minutes when we were leaving. Any idea what happened?
  22. Is is it just me or does it seem that Mooney drivers are partial to redheads?
  23. Happened to me early on in my flying life. Cherokee 140 night flight to Stewart FL. Didn't trust my VOR, had counted the numerous airports southbound along the coast. I was convinced I was there but VOR from adjacent inland field told otherwise. Lined up and tower didn't have me, confirmed landing light on, short final...Cherokee, try Ft. Pierce tower... sure enough I was 700 AGL and lined up for Ft. Pierce.
  24. LOL, Now that's funny!
