  1. The real question is what's the useful load?
  2. That's an odd looking horse.
  3. Hey FL Mooney flyers, Gaylene at Tailwind Cafe (OCF) misses us and wants to know when we are coming back.
  4. I would be remiss if I didn't take this opportunity to represent the South.
  5. Very Cool, Thanks!
  6. Anthony, you are my hero! That's great. Thanks!
  7. John, For once I finally got a tailwind both directions. Went north Wednesday and arrived at KDAY just as the front was hitting, Just returned a couple of hours ago and had a 180k GS almost the entire way back. Wish I could see it on flight aware but no dice. Wonder what's up with that?
  8. Hi Gerbil, I'm in Dayton now visiting my daughter. I have an F that is not for sale but I would be happy to show it off none-the-less. Which airport are you based out of? Steve
  9. Registered to a corporation, president is Kimberley. Looks like we'll done ma'am.
  10. Chris, this one might fit if you're willing to compromise. I know, I know she looks a little emaciated.
  11. Here is some pertinent information since you asked. Seems elongation could be an issue with older belts. https://www.easa.europa.eu/system/files/dfu/SEBED Report_Final_5-2010.pdf
  12. That's one of the best nose art pieces I've seen!
  13. My first purchase for the Mooney was a set of front shoulder and lap belts. Paid almost $1000 between parts and install. The 40 year old belts that came out had degraded as well. Replacement should be considered every ten years.
  14. Roger, Their is a story here I surmise. None of my business I know, but would you care to elaborate? Just piqued my interest. Steve
  15. New technology makes it easy to detect now. Beware what you do, they might be watching.
  16. This is a first for me. TFR for gas release. Hmmmm.
  17. This looks like a pretty good deal... https://www.barnstormers.com/cat.php?mode=search search "S-Tec system 50 A/P including DG" The page wouldn't paste. plus the KLN 89b from Jet would make a nice platform for little $.
  18. I like stories with happy endings. I'll heed that advice as well. Just so happens I found a small drop of oil on the hangar floor yesterday. Unusual for my engine and I do have the quick drain.
  19. I believe the iPad needs at least a 2 amp charge while in use to actually charge, otherwise it is using more juice that it is taking in. The cigarette lighter adapters only supply 1 amp so you will slowly be discharging if you are still using the device. This is a great option and is approved... http://www.aircraftspruce.com/pages/ps/ipad_usb/trueblueusb11-12159.php
  20. The poll above shows roughly one quarter of us consistently monitor guard while flying. If this number holds throughout the entire GA community, 1 out of 4 aircraft are monitoring all the time. Not to mention almost half of us monitor 121.5 at least occasionally. Considering the amount of traffic in the sky (especially in the southeast) there is a high chance that if a beacon goes off someone will report it. That being said, what will transpire from the reporting seems to be a crap shoot. Just like the car alarm in a crowded parking lot draws almost no attention, the 121.5 ELT might or might not get a second glance.
  21. Bob, How did you not pass the G-IV when doing that air to air shot? You must have had to throttle back.
  22. Jim, Did you use ugly and Mooney in the same sentence? I think we might have an infiltrator among us.
  23. Kathryn's report posted a photo of the pilot and his young family today. So sad on so many levels.
  24. Years ago I had three IA's scratching their heads over a problem I was experiencing with a C182. All were stumped. A friend in St. Louis recommended Bill. One phone call and a description of the issue and Bill diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes. Bill is also very entertaining. That alone is worth the price of admission.
  25. Kevin, while I waited. Actually the $250 price is if you do the run-up for them, so I was actually involved. Regular price is $300 with no owner help.
