  1. Still in there. Concerned about that. Let the co-owner know. I will “go in” with a good flashlight and see if I can locate the perpetrator/offending subject.
  2. I flow 18+GPH in 200HP IO-360 and I NEVER see over 360 on cylinders in 120mph cruise climb EVER regardless of outside temps. Fuel flow definitely cools cylinders.
  3. So, face palm moment yesterday. Landed at CID and taxied up to Self Serve pump. I fly with a single ignition key on a round retainer that I hang from my flight bag when not in use. I usually hang the key on the DG knob, but set it up on the glare screen and “gone” in an instant. What just happened? There is an opening into the panel abyss that “ate” the key. It was like 90 on ramp so I used back up key (one of two carried) and taxied back to hanger. Don’t be “that guy”...
  4. Anybody done a field approval on this? I would love to get paperwork and make it happen.
  5. Any word/update from Garmin on connecting an Accurate-Flite to the G5 DG? I really want to do this as ours is starting to precess.
  6. Did you part with this?
  7. I had a gear up while under instruction and flying two hours (one hour under hood) with a simulated engine failure in pattern with a displaced runway on an unfamiliar airport. I installed a gear warning and one of the “accusers” stated (paraphrasing) “Shouldn’t need this in your plane and thanks for making my insurance go up”. Keep flying and keep learning. Your decision to depart with over 3500 feet of runway was your decision as PIC. I don’t question your decision.
  8. Or not. How about you just quietly enter and exit the aircraft repeatedly for 20-30 years with only a pat on the cowl before hanger door comes down. Yes, less is MORE here. Demons exercised. Carry on.
  9. All good except the pep pills, cause they make your girl...well you know.
  10. Check her for meth. Your girl acting Cra-Cra... Glad you got down O.K. Well done.
  11. 32 years of a “free” company car. (Makes ownership doable). My 997.2 is about more than “speed” aspect. Some care some don’t. I have never “felt fast” in my Mooney. You look at the ASI and think “We are really hauling”, but there is not the feeling of speed to me in a plane. The sound, seating position, center lock wheels, wide body hips, steering, braking, outward view and of course handling and acceleration make it fun to drive every time. I like the modern performance/traction control/antil-lock brakes/Stability management systems. I get the air-cooled and hope the GTS becomes sought after and appreciates, but my son will realize that someday. Not me.
  12. Are you sure on that? This photo shows door open/laying flat. Hinges on the bottom in the photo. Right?
  13. Very well deserved. Both you and Bob have transformed your planes into showpieces that are worthy of accolades and certainly awards. Congrats John. Enjoy.
  14. No worries. Damn it, I fixed 993 vs 996 error in my thread, but lives on here... Oh well.
  15. 993 (last of air cooled) with turbo (popular in aviation) had 450HP. That would of done just fine in front of a Mooney. Audi and Porsche are both considered two of the most aesthetically pleasing and ergonomically functional in the business. Too not “get” Mooney and Porsche both wanting to have each other associated with one another is funny to me. Both are winners. Both have a legacy with continuous design improvement with heritage and “look” being evolutional with a nod to the past that is unmistakable. I love both the marks as do many for their performance and beauty.
  16. Because of lawyers. I would be very interested if that partnership had continued.
  17. I believe they are marketing the concept of “turn-key” flying. Put in fuel and go with no maintenance out of pocket for a few years. Not so much on the “Ben-Done” engine movie. A success ruined by lawyers...
  18. U never fail to disappoint. BMW makes some great cars, but “The ring” doesn’t seem to have many putting down “ultimate” lap times. Just say’n...#putuporshutup
  19. That’s how you “become” an “Oldguy”. Well done!
  20. Sorry you are having to experience this. Hoping for “tide to change” on fire front.
  21. Happy with Dawley. Just regret not having the J “rake” on my down tube...
  22. =‘s Awesome? Rhetorical.
  23. That taxi video was just magnificent! Wow is it brilliant to see such a gathering. Well done everyone. I bet that first beverage felt/tasted great. #Mooneypride
  24. Ya, because I am sure no one will bring up something that happened over thirty years ago...
  25. Or STC a J to have a new PORSCHE engine...
