  1. Just spoke with the guy, he said the "firm" price was an error, and is willing to come down a bit, I asked for more pictures and logs. We'll see...
  2. You guys are really terrific! Thanks for your opinions. Given the condition as listed (assuming no major issues on a PPI), what should a fair price be?
  3. Hi, did anyone see this new listing on Trade A Plane? https://www.trade-a-plane.com/search?category_level1=Single+Engine+Piston&make=MOONEY&model=M20C+RANGER&listing_id=2266087&s-type=aircraft. I'm interested in your comments/opinions. Thanks!
  4. You assume I'm a "young guy"! Started on Medicare about a year ago, and want that plane while I can! I had a '66 C awhile back (also electric gear, HSI, Century 2B), worst thing I did as get rid of it. I've been trying to replace it since, so far, with no luck. Too bad you sold your E before I could grab it from you...
  5. Hi again. I'm still looking for that 'prefect Mooney" for me. I have seen several that are beautiful planes, but don't quite fit. The main thing is my orthopedist really wants me to avoid the manual gear motion, so I must have electric gear, and I'd really like a 2 axis A/P. Anyone?
  6. +1 Tom, those are great. I had them on my C and they provided a lot of adjustable light at very low cost.
  7. What a fantastic job and a gorgeous plane! If nothing else, it is a great advertisement to what your company can do for others. The only thing I differ with you is that the J is (was) a fantastic plane, and I really don't think that any other out there compares, especially for the price that it costs to make it "better than new"! As an aside, I'm sure you and most here realize, the Cirrus needs a chute because the aircraft wouldn't meet the spin recovery requirements of 14 CFR 23.221, not because it's cool or a safer plane to fly. Congratulations! Roger
  8. William, I have found that the people here on MS are passionate about their Mooneys. If they offer their "baby" for sale, it is not an easy thing to do, and you can bet that it has been taken care of better than any you find on the commercial sales sites. That's why I was surprised when you came here last to find that special plane. MS is kind of like a big Mooney Family, and we all have a common interest - Mooneys! Welcome to the Family, and please don't hesitate to ask the group about anything Mooney, the members here are more knowledgeable and have had more experience than almost anyone else. Roger
  9. The one thing this shows for sure, is that you guys have drop dead gorgeous panels! Wow, am I envious!
  10. Beautiful plane Jack! Good luck with the sale.
  11. Paul, your list is great and right to the point. What we all need to keep in mind, is that most of us fly for fun, and it is a hobby not a business. If we want to get the upgrades, and can afford them, go for it. If not, relax with your vintage "steam" gauges, and manual everything and enjoy the ride! Non of the fancy upgrades are necessary to fly safely and leisurely. Those of us who do fly for fun are also able to sit in the hanger and wait for good weather, so in essence, the IFR flight plan and their associated instrumentation might only be an aid to get into and out of certain airspace, and to fly in those marginal VFR days and conditions. For those who fly for business and must get there now, please disregard the above! You NEED the best of the best, and probably wouldn't be getting a vintage Mooney anyway!
  12. Thanks Rob! Oxford isn't far from me, and home of the best ice cream in Connecticut (Rich Farm)! I'm always in the mood to talk Mooneys. You guys must know a good Mooney IA in your area, would you please send the info to me. Thanks!
  13. Hi Everyone. As you might know I am looking to purchase an older Mooney, and in anticipation of that purchase I will need an IA/A&P in or around Danbury CT (KXDR) who is familiar and comfortable working on Mooneys. Does anyone know of anyone they trust that I can use? Thanks for your help! Roger
  14. I'd like to keep it at 50 AMU or below.
  15. Great plane! Wish it had more than the PC though...
  16. Hi Everyone! OK, so I guess now it's my time to come to the members to help me get back into flying Mooneys. I'm looking for an older C, E or F in decent shape, mid time engine, no corrosion, resealed tanks, good donuts. My only must have feature is a coupled A/P. I've even given in to a manual gear since I've been humiliated into the fact that older light weight women (no offense ladies!) have no problem swinging manual gear, it's all in the technique! If anyone has what I'm interested in for sale, or knows someone who does, who has not advertised it all over the internet, please let me know. You can PM me here, or my personal email; reodds at Hotmail dot com, or call me 516-431-55 four zero. Thanks in advance to all of you!
  17. Thank you. It sounds like a great program!
  18. Glad you had a great time. I'm sorry I couldn't go this year. Hopefully next. I am curious about the Right Seat Ready seminar. Do you have some more info on it? Thanks!
  19. So we're on the bottom of the list?
  20. Thank you Mitch, good info!
  21. Paul, I can always count on you to be level headed especially when emotion can easily cloud the issues. I totally agree, IF I could buy the plane at $45k (which is doubtful), the amount of necessary work to get it up to speed makes it not worth it - unless money is no object, and I MUST have this particular plane, which is certainly not the case on both points. Thank you!
  22. Thanks guys, great info. Please keep it coming!
  23. Hi Everyone. I recently saw this ad from Aircraft Ownership Solutions (http://aircraftownershipsolutions.com/inventory/1976+mooney+m20f+executive+n14483/535). Does anyone here have any experience with this particular company, and what is your opinion of the plane? Thanks for your help and advice!
  24. Justin, it's really a great plane, good luck with the sale. Now if only the first number in the price were a zero and not one I could afford it! (Just kidding), IMHO it's a fair price for what you are getting.
  25. Actually I have, I owned a '66 C. It's not the strength, but the motion. I'm afraid I'll injure it further. My orthopedic doc also says, no to that kind of motion.
