  1. We'll give them a shout and see if they can help with either scenario. Thanks
  2. we're looking at a 300k value at 4 percent, so it's worth exploring, I just don't know how to get from A to B legally. It also looks like we can just structure as a flying club and charge sales tax on the hourly "rental cost"
  3. I'd be more concerned with cooling. Especially with the water seals on a rotary and doubly so with the rotor housings getting older and that channel wearing some.
  4. Who would you have set that up? Attourney? Accountant? Both?
  5. http://aeromarinetaxpros.typepad.com/my_weblog/2012/08/registering-your-aircraft-in-a-delaware-llc-can-be-the-dumbest-thing-youve-ever-done-.html That guy knows a lot more about it than I do.
  6. we fought some leaks after our tank was out for hydro at annual. If it's leaking even with the valve off, I'd get some leak fluid and check all the fittings in the bay, the one where the fill port comes in, and the one that goes to the gauge. Ours didn't get tightened enough and leaked.
  7. What I've read is that doing that is basically a waste of time and money and then makes it harder for you to prove the plane isn't used for commerce.
  8. Can I borrow your Oregon address to register ours? Hah.
  9. Co has use tax at 4 percent of the purchase price. It's gross.
  10. I don't know why the aspen databases have to be so complicated.
  11. man, I can't remember. IIRC the SV database is the same as the terrain database and that only updates like once a year and is separate, but my memory is hazy.
  12. But can it help you piss?
  13. You might pm him for good measure, he doesn't check in often, or email him directly. Pm me I'll give it to you if you don't have it.
  14. Looks like I'm about to be rocket free. I'd love a lancair esp but I think we'll go cirrus.
  15. I'm with you. But it's just not how I fly. I'm usually ifr and going somewhere. Prop striking our rocket is not particularly high on my list of things to do. However I really want to go to North Captiva. With no obstructions I think I can drag it in about 80 knots and be just fine.
  16. Mmmmm stone crabs, poor clawless delicious bastards
  17. Couldn't afford to purchase the brand or run it at a loss. Didn't the Adams a500 owners attempt the same and fail?
  18. Good to hear. Job well done.
  19. Because no one wants to live there.
  20. I used to practice there back in the 90's when I flew out of MMV. As you said you've got SLE, CVO, and MMV there all with ILS approaches should it be necessary. Maybe some day they'll get a GPS LPV approach. It was a smallish community back then, but I haven't been back in 20 years so I imagine it's grown a bunch.
  21. Independence airpark near salem is one of the best in the country.... they say anyway. It's a nice area. http://www.airnav.com/airport/7S5 I'm not sure OR is the most advantageous state to live in tax wise, but it's a nice state.
  22. What part of the country?
  23. this guy's got it down.
  24. it's registered to "cash grading contractors inc" I wanted to track it to see how slow that ugly airplane is but there's no GS in the track. I think the flight suit and helmet/mask is hilarious though.
