  1. I have this style also, thx for the feedback Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. You can adjust the seat, but in my case when I tried to make more upright it would slip back to old position, somewhat dangerous so I haven't tried it again. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. I just had this happen to me (intermittent volts warning flashing, ammeter showing discharge), it fixed itself before I could do the alt field reset, this is on a 14v 201. This was on a second leg of a 7 hr trip. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Got it, I'm a little slow today, so a battery minder won't generate enough current, but a regular battery charger should.
  5. Shouldn't I see voltage from the negative main pin and the smaller 3rd pin?
  6. Have no idea it will work with Vertex, yes, I would need the screw in type connector, forgot old radios use BNC type. I'm going to have avionics upgraded in the near future, was trying to decide to have it remove myself, don't know if the extra hardware hurts quality of transmissions. Was going to check out if it works. More of an experiment, hence the reason for it to be cheap.
  7. I have one of these, I put a voltmeter on it and it didn't show any voltage. Can anybody explain how these work? why the 3rd pin? I was going to attach a battery tender to it.
  8. I have a KX-99 antenna adapter which is just a splitter. There is a jack for plugging in your handheld, I have a Vertex, was looking to pick up the cable if I could find one (and it's cheap). The only ones I find come with the adapter.
  9. What is causing the fog? I assume it's not moisture.
  10. With me ipad I can see about 75nm, with a paper chart(s) laid on a table I can see 500nm, for myself, I can get the big picture easier. With longer x-country trips, > 400nm, it's nice to look at the big picture. I admit I prefer paper books as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Paper charts are great for planning, you get the big picture you just can't get with electronic charts. Do y'all just hunch over your iPads scrolling around to plan your routes? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Does your buddy have a hanger now? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. I don't think you mean capillary action, which explains how plants get water to go upward, I think its more like a straw when you have a finger covering the top, preventing air getting in, which holds the water in the straw. There should be no air in your fuel lines, so it will stay there until forced out when some of it vaporizes. It depends on the engine design, temperature, time, etc, but if enough fuel is forced out, then this could flood the engine, which explains why someone posted their hot start procedure using full throttle (same for flooded engine), by opening the throttle you allow more air to combine with the excess fuel. I saw someone else post they push the throttle 1" forward. So we have at least 3 ways: leave throttle at idle open throttle 1" full throttle which way is best depends on how much fuel gets pushed out, maybe we should have a hot start contest :-)
  14. Two possible solutions come to mind... Put the GDL 39 on its own circuit breaker, the GPS might flag it if it doesn't see it, but it should continue to work You won't get traffic, etc if you can get the manual, there might be a software switch to turn ADSB out, ATC might ask you to turn it off if it gives erroneous data? 15. With all due respect, I would take some of the stats quoted with a grain of salt, they are like fish stories ;-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. How about just transplanting engine, prop, avionics, etc, to the 70? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. But if you do please use a GoPro camera, then post the video, I'm sure the rest of us will find it entertaining Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Corrosion makes the plane not airworthy? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. I wouldn't post that you are leaving this weekend either...if someone can find your home address, that is a open invitation to be robbed.
  20. Here is a link describing some problems with that AP, FYI www.peter2000.co.uk/aviation/kfc225/ Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. I just had mine rebuilt, it was past TBO, the emergency mechanism broke, SB M20-282A back spring installed, motor overhauled. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. I would go with lubrication as mention above Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Turn out to be a bad flaps switch, a good thing I wasn't doing touch and gos, I might have tried to take off with full flaps ( I was doing full stops and taxi backs). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. It sounds like that 2 applications are necessary for max coverage, a oily application to get wicked, follow by a wax application, is this ever done or for some reason not possible? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. It's growing, both China and Brazil, big countries that do not have our transportation infrastructure need ga aviation. My flight school brings students in from both countries. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
