I put no more then 6 1/2 quarts and usually no less then 5 1/2. Seems to burn anything over 6 qts. Pretty quick

We just did the LASAR upper truss as well. Expensive but made a world of difference. Good luck! Mike

Flew to waypoint cafe yesterday in Camarillo for lunch with a buddy of mine. He snapped a few shots of my E on the way home. He was flying a Geronimo, if any of you were at OSH this year you may of seen it. Enjoy

Thanks 1RX... $800 is pretty much my target price. We will see. I know it sold for 2k brand new but the reality of it it is, even being only a year and a half old there are so many gadgets that have hit the market To compete with it that it's just not worth much IMO. Thanks for the help and if you guys know anyone interested shoot me a message. Thanks, Mike

Awesome! Thanks for the input guys. I didn't even think to check eBay. This helps a lot Mike

MHAVIATION INC at KWJF. And it would be a quick trip from John Wayne. The owner maintained my grandfathers airplanes for years and now he does mine and his son is my childhood friend. They aren't mooney specific but they know thier way around all models. They do some amazing work at the best price in CA guaranteed. Mhaviationinc.com Best luck, mike

I think I'm going to take the 496xm out of the E and sell it. It has xm weather and is in near perfect shape. I also have all books/manuals/papers as well as the bag for it and all cables required to tie it in with a 430w, with and air gizmos panel mount and the yoke mount. Any thoughts on what you think is a fair price for all this. It's a year and a half old. Thanks Mike

So sad! Prayers to the family and our fallen birdmen. Mike -
What was total time when you bought First Mooney?
MHemperly replied to scottfromiowa's topic in General Mooney Talk
85 hours. I got my PPL at 43 hrs. in a 152 and went on to renting 172's until i hit 85 hrs. Then my fiancé and I bought N6041Q (66 M20E Super 21) in september last year. I got complex endorsed and took a friend with a bit a Mooney time with us to Wisconsin and we flew it all the way back to sunny southern California. My total time now is 160 and I got my PPL in June 2012. Instrument training is next. -

That's awesome! My girlfriend and I are so excited we made the cut! Haha GO MOONEY

can't open it on my mac desktop either

I have mine mounted on the shaft of the pilot yoke. Doesn't effect elevator trim at all, even good in turbulence.

2014 Planes of Fame Airshow - Presented by MOONEY!
MHemperly replied to Dave Marten's topic in General Mooney Talk
Looking forward to the show and displaying our M20E! I hope to see some people from Mooneyspace out there! -
Epiphyte, the probe may look good to the eye but in most cases they have an internal problem. I just replaced mine a couple months ago and it looked brand new. I literally watched it go out. The EGT needle bounced a couple times and went cold. You have to remember the temps these things see on every flight. Probes going bad is a common thing. As far as the wiring you should only have the two screw on wires going to the probe and whatever wiring there is for the back light on the gauge. Very simple system. I'm right there with you guys on the budget! I would love to do so much to our E but there just isn't enough Benjamin's in my bank roll haha! A good way to see how you are running your engine (this is how I do it until I can get an EDM) at altitude, lean until you get a drop in rpm, then richen about two turns and let it settle and then run 50-100 degrees rich of whatever it settled at. And then do your own oil changes. I find this very helpful because I was thought at every oil change (50hrs) you clean and gap the spark plugs. This gives you a chance to see how it's running by the color of the plugs, white is way to lean, black is on the rich side which is fine if you want to burn the fuel, and a dry dark grey is pretty good. Also do a compression check while you are there. And don't forget to put an additive every 100hrs.
