  1. does anyone know if this clock can still be purchased from davtron? Or does anyone know of one for sale or where I can even find a used one? ive looked on davtron's site and can't find it. This is not my panel btw. I have the old anolog clock with sweeping hands that has the thin aluminum bezel around it, I just want to replace mine with this style. Mike
  2. well said. Talked with my IA today while I got started on my owner assisted annual. I pulled the cable out and we took some measurements and ordered the cable. They're even installing the threaded sleeve for the firewall. My IA said its a simple log book entry for owner produced part. Mike
  3. I'll see what I can dig up. Worst case just wait until mine is out of annual and I will have the new field approval for my prop cable. Here is an interesting link also: http://mooneyspace.com/topic/9818-wanted-propeller-control-cable/#entry230128 Read the second reply about the email from the FSDO mike
  4. No sorry. I know you have to measure from the back of the panel nut to the end of the threads with the handle pushed in. Mike
  5. I have an ACS in mine. You can find them through aircraft spruce, they're based in Lake Havasu AZ.Works great. But needs field approval. I'm doing my prop cable with the same brand and field approval (owner produced part). Mike
  6. Congrats! I hope my upgrade is Similar to your acclaim in 27years! Haha!
  7. Where are you located?
  8. I use zephyrs spo-dee-o-dee spray polish. It has carnauba wax in it and makes it easy to clean off the next time. The paint on my E was done in 99 and I have to say it is still a 9/10. I wax the plane once a year and use this in between and wash it with water only when it's really bad. I live in the desert so washing with water doesn't worry me with corrosion. https://zephyrpro40.com/products/77--pro-33-spo-dee-o-dee-spray-wax-n-polish-.html Mike
  9. Hmm that's strange because I just talked to my IA about this topic today and he says that his gtn stack locks out the glide slope if nav data is out of date. He has a 750/650 stack with a g500. I don't know maybe I misunderstood him. I personally don't have gtn I'm still rockin my 430waas. Best of luck though
  10. From what I understand about the GTN stuff is the glide slope is locked out if the nav database isn't up to date. There goes garmin gettin' us again Mike
  11. Is your nav data up to date?
  12. On the leaner side. This is pretty common. Find a conservative balance between cht-egt-tit. But your 1530/1540 seems good
  13. Do you have a unit with a full harness? I don't have an analyzer in the plane at all. Just single egt
  14. Here's how I land my E every time Pattern work: (and this works the same once in the pattern from enroute for me) Take off full power fuel pump on. If I'm full of fuel and have a passenger I'll use T/O flaps. If Fuel is down and I'm light no T/O flaps. Gear up flaps up at appropriate time 500ft check 25"MP 2500rpm. Climb to pattern altitude throttle back to 17"MP and fly the pattern at 120mph (gear extend speed) Abeam the numbers pre landing check "B-GUMPS" and slow to 100mph Tuning base throttle back as nessesary to slow to 90mph and drop 15 degrees flaps "about three full pumps" and I dont use anymore then that EVER for landing. I've found it easier to get the nose up in the flare. Turning base slow to 80mph and once over the numbers I'm pulling power out and sight down the runway and hold the flare as long as possible. The E and most mooneys float. Do not force it down you will bounce or potentially wheel barrel and prop strike. When I'm wheels on the ground the yoke is damn near in my chest haha! Hope this helps happy and safe flying
  15. Don't really have much on you guys but here is mine!
  16. I would say no more then a half inch when you grab the nose wheel and move it. Mine was bad. On my roll outs after landing it would shimmy quite a bit. Are you experiencing the same thing? My mechanic rebuilt mine with the LASAR "mod" rebuild kit and it feels great now but it is pricey Mike
  17. I think it will be just fine. Most likely fall asleep. But totally agree with the guys above, if exposed early she will grow up being use to it. Get a nice little crate and be on your way. Our Yorkie loves to fly, in fact he too falls asleep in the back seat. He just gets a little nervous on take off and landing... It's weird how he knows. Good luck and post pics of the pup
