Like everything you need a little time behind them to make it flow well. I was pretty upset at Ford for changing the buttons on the steering wheel between a 2020 and a 2024. It's like they got a Microsoft UI guy and changed it for the next version. I am still mad about MS changing the color of Exchange. it was yellow and then they went to blue. Blue it the wrong color since they already used it for Word. I select icons based on color not shapes or words. It's faster.

There are two extra inputs for thermocouple you can just use those. Then add them to the engine monitor screen. Part of the EMS. Probably can use existing wiring. I used an $8 thermocouple to monitor the temperature behind the panel.

As I recall the first time this was discussed The track has some human factor of picking airports and oh crap I have to do something about this and get it down. Like just kill altitude and speed and do a left pattern for LakeWay. Combine that with a slippery Mooney and yep there will be some overshoot. He walked away so he did pass the test, So there is no second guessing on my part. Loss of oil pressure would mean partial power for awhile, then it will get quiet. I've landed with three cylinders. The most important part to practice is to go up high configure for takeoff then pull the power. Your push over should be immediate then find best glide. Still want to know how the fuel flow was not set coming out of the last several annuals. "COMPLIANCE: At Engine Installation, 100 hour/Annual Inspection, fuel system component replacement or as required if operation is not within specifications. MODELS AFFECTED: All TCM continuous flow fuel injected engine models except IO-240-B w/ Bypass Fuel System; L/TSIO-360-RB; TSIO-520-L, LB, WB; GTSIO-520-F, K, N and GIO-550-A Engine Models. differences require checking and adjusting the fuel WARNING injection system to meet operational specifications before flight. New F w/ a Couple of Squawks: Squawk #1 - Gear Alert

No issue, it's just kind of fun when people get close and you tell them "too close for missiles switching to guns" and you have a guns button -
New F w/ a Couple of Squawks: Squawk #1 - Gear Alert

I have the schematic for the 70s F Mooney. PM me your email account and I will send it over. It might be correct since you have the quadrant. -
I am probably going to bring the truck. I have a boat on Pickwick lake to stage from. Probably link up with fire departments in Eastern Tennessee. If you are on the East Coast, the Mooney is a great platform for flying supplies. Consider removing the passenger seat and redoing the weight and balance by weighing the seat. Some would say this requires an A/P sign off. Everyone doing their small part to make it better for everyone.

The key would probably be to see if you have a Squat switch over on the left wheel.

You don't have a "Guns" button on your throttle do you? -
We want to provide you with the latest updates on Operation Airdrop as we mobilize to support the communities affected by the recent events in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. Here’s everything you need to know to participate and support our efforts: Staging Base at Concord Regional Airport Storage Hangar Address: 8605 Aviation BIvd NW, Concord, NC 28027 Our operations base is now set up at Concord Regional Airport, where we will begin accepting flights for donations starting tomorrow, Sunday, September 29th, 2024. We anticipate full-scale flight operations beginning on Monday, September 30th. Volunteer pilots, please start preparing for Monday's launch! Multiple destinations have already been identified, with the largest being Asheville Regional Airport (AVL). We are also working to reach additional locations that have significant need, including remote areas where rotor operations will be essential. Volunteer Sign Ups! Fuel Discount for Pilots We are also excited to announce that pilots flying in support of this mission will receive a $0.75 per gallon discount on fuel. Simply inform the FBO that you are flying for Operation Airdrop, and the discount will be applied. We also have secured some hotel rooms in case anyone needs to stay over night. Civilian Supply Drop-Off Location: For those delivering donations by ground, we’ve partnered with Miracle Movers, who will be providing moving trucks at our civilian drop-off location at Walmart (just near the airport). New F w/ a Couple of Squawks: Squawk #2 - Erratic Fuel Flow
Yetti replied to bigmo's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Erratic sounds like wiring. Grounds should all be shiny bright. There should be a ground strap from engine to the firewall. Check the battery ground in the Coms Bay Port side behind the wing. -

NOT LPS. Use contact cleaning fluid. Red can. What year F Model? Exorcise the micro switch while spraying with contact cleaning fluid. -
Well that's not right either. It really depends on if you have a squat switch. on a later F 70s F the Sonalert is triggered by the Squat Switch on the Port wing. The Gear Pos light is triggered by the Down limit switch in the belly. Even with your statement, the Gear Pos Light and Gear Warn are on separate circuits. The fact remains that the mostly likely cause of the OP is the throttle sensing limit switch since those are the most likely to get out of adjustment. The two two circuits are Left wing Plug and Electric Gear plug. Knowing it is two different circuits is important because the numbering scheme on the wiring changes. Where the power comes from is less relevant. One CB can power two different circuits. I learned a long time ago to leave off the last paragraph.

What they said. The gear warning and lights are different circuits.

If this is the passenger yoke, I would also guess getting bumped and grabbed during ingress and egress to the plane has something to do with the stress cracks. I would have to guess Mooney did not plan for cast aluminum from the mid 1900s to not crack. Sent this to Jason at the FAA. Jacob, for the Mooney Control Wheel ACS I noticed it covered all the F models. The later F models I have a 75 F do not use that kind of control wheel. Those are the "slim" Wheel which are on earlier models. Mine has the "mongo" control wheels More like on a J model This is from the Parts Manual #105 The "mongo" control wheel have different design for the Control Shaft interface. The interface hole sits more in the body of the yoke so there is more material to support the control shaft. I noticed in the ACS picture the set screw threaded hole was starting to crack around it. Someone has put way too much torque on this poor wheel.

Not sure what Goop is made from. Probably hog fat renderings or something natural. I have also got it at Home Depot or Walmart. Good for cleaning your hands also
-
The sprayer that you use with mineral spirit works pretty good on the engine and the belly. Goop hand cleaner and blue rags is cheaper.

I believe that is just a raspberry PI in a 3D printed box. Dremel tool is your friend. Then just follow the steps to redo the micro SD card. https://stratux.me/
-
gives a new meaning to hot swap.
-
Wing drain or colator drain? Try exercising it. Then replace it. Rubber seals get old and fail.
-
Like died how? You might be able to get a new micro card with loaded software on it for the raspberry pi
-
Depending on how much was done. I will do one or two fast taxi. Then come back and check everything. Then circle up over the airport. land and check things. Then the bird is ready to fly.

Trim indicator not moving reliably F model
Yetti replied to bixmooney's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
You can unscrew the plexiglass cover. Clean out the gunk. Check the tightness of the indicator (piece of plastic) on the Bowden wire. Make a new one out of a plastic cutting board from wally world and put it back together.
