I had a three blade on my 66E... The gent I bought it exchanged the 2 blade prop on the E Model with the 3 blade on his C.. Just goes to show what he thought of the 3 blade. I sold the plane because of the vibration even after prop balancing....

Bob Bramble used to work for King. He did my gyro/flight director. Great service and very reasonable price... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Shop with good borescope in Maine/New England
mcpilot replied to terbang's topic in General Mooney Talk
Go on eBay and get a USB dental camera. I use Savvy analysis and send pics to Mike Bush and he thinks they're great -
Oil analysis and inspection of filter would be important here after the engine has run. Lycoming IO 360s do not fare well if they sit and the cam and lifters have a chance to corrode... The wear will snowball at that point...

Nice plane and nice price

What do speed mods do to the yellow/ red arc / Vne?
mcpilot replied to Joe G.'s topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
With my former 66E. Most of the speed mods really didn't give me more speed. IMHO probably not worth the money spent -
What to use to take the Mooney out of the Hangar
mcpilot replied to Houman's topic in General Mooney Talk
Haha.. I remember the "Hangar winch" thread from the old Mooney mail list server. That was a long time ago.. I got a Sidewinder for my plane. After having shoulder surgery and a bum knee it became impossible to move my plane around any other way. This thing is very well engineered and solidly built... I really like it... https://www.redlineaviation.com/mooney/ -

Great plane with meticulous maintenance.

After consultation with savvy and GAMI. We have come to the conclusion that the injector is fine. My ap removed and cleaned it just to be sure. We have the problem of roughness lop narrowed down to the ignition harness.

I have a suggestion. I have owned Beechcraft in the past and still frequent the beech talk forum. It's a great place They have rules in place for classifieds. You must post a price NO disparaging remarks-- it's up to the buyer to exercise due diligence These two rules (there are others) keep the tone mature and polite. Visitors to the site are not turned off and this adds to their perception of the pilots and the aircraft How about guys? Maturity and politeness.

Just to be sure.. Is all of this input regarding the IO360 A3B6(D) ? All IO360s are not the same. (Having flown behind a few of the variations...)
-
Actually after looking at the EDM830 data the GAMI spread was .6. It usually is .3...

I noticed that I was unable to run LOP yesterday because the #2 cylinder peaked earlier than the rest and then became way to lean to run smooth... After I got home I took the cowling off and found what is seen in the attached photo....

Great turnout and great to meet everyone!

ROP versus LOP and the Lycoming IO-360
mcpilot replied to Jsavage3's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
Hey David, You bring up a few really good points here.. Are engines are different, and it would be interesting to see info pertaining to the Lycoming IO360 series. HAs anyone "experimented" with different timings? -
ROP versus LOP and the Lycoming IO-360
mcpilot replied to Jsavage3's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
I spoke with Mike Busch on a few occasions. I seem to remember him saying that barring extreme cold he leans LOP and as long as CHT is happy ICP is fine I have adopted this method I do the big mixture pull and then use mixture to control power. Starting at 75% on my EDM 830
