Well, finding this 20-203-3 spacer with the current LASAR nuance seems challenging. Anybody have any other leads on this? - Today

Anyone can list anything for any price. You said you saw it listed for 140, but has anyone bought it? -

Try @Alan Fox or @Jerry Pressley I may have a spare if they don’t.

I am having trouble finding the part number for the J models that had it from the factory. I only know of the LASKIT108 from Lasar.

Elevator bungee springs

Got the bungees apart on Saturday. On spring is broken, of course it's not in stock. Trying to figure out how to replace it by finding an equivalent. -
Never mind what they say, just look at the data:

Ok let’s apply some logic here. The OP said #1 and #3 are hot so I’m presuming #2 and #4 are not and if this is the case then it can not be timing as that effects all 4 cylinders so we can drop the timing issue as not the problem . Now there could be a weak spark plug that’s not firing well or fouled but to have that in 2 cylinders is highly unlikely but definitely more possible than timing that could only effect 2 cylinders, besides that’s and easy test to verify, just swap all the spark plugs on the odd cylinders with the even cylinders and see if the problem moves or stays that will rule out or confirm and issue with the sparkplugs. It maybe in fuel flow. A gami sweep test would quickly check that as well. When i was on the hunt to fly deeper lop i also had different cht by alot. When i got my fuel flows even my cht also became closer together. With his fuel flows already on the low side of 18 gph it wouldn’t take much unbalanced fuel flow for a cylinder to be running not rich enough to cool at T/O power. And induction leak on NA engine at wot doesn’t matter where the cylinder is getting its air from as the throttle is not reducing any of the cylinders. Induction leaks start showing themselves as you restrict airflow to the cylinders and are greatest at idle power. (Note do not apply this logic to turbo charged models as induction leaks will certainly show as overly rich and cool cht on a cyl that is leaking air in a turbo system) baffling also a prime suspect since 1 & 3 are on the same side and both started running hotter at the same time. Just one small leak somewhere on that side can cause both cylinders to rise thus a single point of failure could have effect on both cylinders where as even the fuel flow requires 2 failures one for each cylinder to happen at the same time. Maybe if the partial blockage is in the spider fuel flow divider but again to only effect one side and not all 4 is less likely than air escaping somewhere on that side of the cowling.

Clemson's not my team, either, but were the first one with a paw logo to come to mind. My school a bit unusual. We are officially the Tigers (says so on all team uniforms), and we have a person dressed as a cartoon-like tiger at games. But we also have a live mascot, a golden eagle. Fits me well, I've always liked eagles (see above), but I've also always liked tigers.

In engineering there is an old saying that there is no such thing as a single change. I believe the short bodies trim out with the elevator aligned with the stabilizer. However lengthening the fuselage for the mid bodies threw things off and they trim in flight with the elevator slightly trailing edge down. I was told years ago by an engineer at Mooney that Lopresti looked into this when modifying the M20F to make the M20J and decided that fixing it would require significant rework to the empennage to change the angle of incidence of the horizontal stabilizer and the drag was minimal and not worth the cost to fix it.

So I’m headed to Idaho to get my bird 84J after almost 1.5 years in the shop. ap is happy, I’m happy, he does final runup today while I’m in route and 50a cb blows for lower switches. He said cross tube felt warmer like they shorted to it, look as though they had fallen on it. But when he pushed them up off of the cross bar the cb would not reset. I'm headed there tomorrow and while not an ap I hope my EE degree can be of help to him. I’ve already flown the transition pilot across the country lol. any thoughts or recommendations here beyond look for burns?, I’m guessing checking continuity to ground, then start removing loads / all loads until it has no ground link and will hold a reset?

Wrong team but that’s the idea.

Lasar Aviation Mooney Assurance Program - Really?
Justin Schmidt replied to PeteMc's topic in General Mooney Talk
Everyone knows that doesn't work. We have lean/lean six sigma, JIT processes in which are proven around the world whether in a niche area or mass production. Matter of fact, niche areas benefit the most. Unfortunately, when we went to lean in the 80s everything got much better, and like idiot management went right back to old processes, at least in America. Current owners of Mooney had no intention of saving the company, they wanted a pump and dump and make some money. This is what firms like that do, invest, turn quick, sell quick or do things with the IP, see it daily in the tech world. Think of mitt Romney, but he/his firm was actually good at it. Johnny had no idea what he was doing, no knowledge of manufacturing, business, or how to make a niche area profitable. He just thought he could talk it up make something look good on paper and sell. Well that didn't work out. That really has been the curse of Mooney company. The only way a company of manufacturing parts can be profitable is learn lean, know the industry, know business, know the audience meaning price points and what's needed. It is never good storing parts. Really someone needs to crawl to Daher. -

Engine Overheating Help (High CHTs)
blaine beaven replied to Jarerh's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
On your next flight, perhaps try turning off one of the magnetos to see if that makes any significant difference over a few minutes? This could be a quick way to determine if you have a timing issue with a rogue ignition source. -
Default latitude and longitude format in the G1000
dkkim73 replied to dkkim73's topic in Acclaim Owners
This is the more philosophical part of my question. I can't see why the range of choices need be different in a Mooney vs. a C182T. I would imagine for the CAP volunteer work you do, being able to use different coordinates would simplify things. I suppose it's possible that certification, since tied to airframe cert, might be more time- or cost-intensive if more variations were tested, but that's really a WAG. -

That's a good idea. I know a Garmin guru in Billings I might ask the next chance I get. I think there's some inside baseball about configuration stuff. -
Lasar Aviation Mooney Assurance Program - Really?

This is contradictory. How can an aircraft manufacturing company, which doesn’t make airplanes, and doesn’t have the ability to make parts be “operational “. sounds like the definition of Non-operational -

Thanks, Deb! I missed that it was in the manual. I saw the same thing in the PC simulator, and also when I was at Garmin training in Olathe. I'd be curious if it is changeable at a deeper level. Though I don't think decimal minutes is bad for a traditional format, if you ever were working with ground coordination UTM or MGRS would be so much more intuitive. -
A lot of money in not the right places. Not sure who would pay 115 for that… Johnson bar looks corroded, original very worn controls, unfinished panel, the list goes on.
