Simping, lol. Haven't walked in a Walmart in 20 years. I just don't blame others for my failings. I know far more mom and pop places that accept welfare AND abuse their workers. People tend to get their comeuppance. Yes everyone has free will where they work, unless you are in most African nations, china, north Korea. Also, minimal skills, minimal pay. From a young age everyone has their own destiny in their hands. However. Not sure why you keep bringing your chip on your shoulder here. Go to therapy or check yourself into an institution, you sound unhinged. Yes quality is virtually the same for majority of all things in this country, either they or the materials come from only a few places. No, not talking about old gramps tools. No not saying current quality is that good. Again, the consumers determined that. Perhaps, stop worrying about others and go work on yourself, go cry yourself to sleep cursing the world because not everyone is equal and tomorrow go seek some help because your friends probably are not here.

Simping for walmart ain’t a good look So no, I know of no small business that accepts food stamps while abusing the part time system and having employees who themselves are on food stamps, let alone to the scale of walmart, soooo let’s kabash that nonsense Entering on their own free will? Really? Do you get how human needs work and the demographic who ends up at walmart? Its free will, I mean like you could always live under a tarp under the overpass lol You think “politics” gets you a free pass? Straight up police forced small business to shutdown and fail, same police stood guard at walmarts, it is what it is Most say it’s “love” but real world the cash stops and the love will soon follow in 90% of modern marriages, lest we get into the outcome demographics of kids from fatherless homes and the trend of family courts You saying the build quality of Wally World tools is even in the same galaxy as something off the Mac truck, or even old yardsale craftsmans? You use tools much? Lol, I’m a great guy, leave stuff better than I found it, I’ll go out of my way to help those deserving even when it comes with some expense, but I’m not a door mat and I don’t forget. I see who my friends are, who makes my community better, and I see the ones taking advantage of my community and who the victimizers are, and I act accordingly.

So your taxes do prop up Walmart. Like every business that exists in this country, tax cuts are given to attract businesses to an area, mostly if not exclusively from the lical level. That's a political issue. Their model of paying employees, you mean employees entering an employment relationship of their own free will and getting paid unlike Europe a few hundred years ago, or currently since they get paid far less than the US and far more taxes. The shutdowns were politics, not sure walmart directed agents to shutdown businesses. I know many businesses that refused. Divorces happen for all sorts of reasons, i know first hand. Again not sure walmart is on that reason list. Tools even from "high end" places like mac fail, almost crushed by a failed part. Again not sure walmart is to blame there either. Sounds more like the consumers choose. Remind me never to lend you something, you sound like a joy of a person to deal with. I picture you with a karen haircut.

Ok That would be my bank account, all the stupid taxes I pay, as my tax dollars prop up walmarts junk model of “paying” their army of “part time” workers Second would be some folks I know who’s business were shutdown by the government during COVID, complete with armed agents of the state who would use up to lethal force to keep their business closed, as at the same time they stood guard at the local wally worlds Some don’t get this, but loss of a business and income often = divorce = depression, kids not being able to do the same activities, etc To reiterate f’ walmart with a cactus So yeah, if I need a floor jack, one that’ll probably fail after 6-12mo if I kept it, I’ll buy it and take it back where the underpaid worker will gladly take it back even after I describe how I used it and now want my money back.

Show me on the doll where the big bad corporation hurt you

You’re close, I think it’s fully acceptable to treat others as they treat you. As a American tax payer walmart “abuses” the heck out of me.

I think the biggest reason is the added cost of "doing the job twice" as you might save money on labor doing it all at once. While that might make sense at the end of the day, you may also find that you can keep the C41 going without dumping too much money into it. It all depends on your budget and needs out of the plane. My J has about 2500 airframe hours and reading through the logs, looks like the C41 computer was sent in for repair once, and the AI/DG more than once. For having been around since 1979, I would say that ain't too shabby. I don't expect to get another 50 years out of it, but if I could get 5 I would be happy. I'm not planning on flying hard IMC with this thing. I do plan to start IR training soon but thats really just to make me a safer VFR pilot, and maybe launch through a thin layer every once in a while.

I believe Flyier is on the right track on my thinking here. If I get a capable GPS that can operate the 41, why not? If the 41 fails, I can get a modern autopilot. This is my thinking. I read a few posts here that say dump the 41 but why, it was gone though by Century and it works? I will be spending a lot of money this year to get the plane up to date on electronics and will need a GPS anyway so I think this is a more important upgrade right now, even if the 41 does not end up useful. Thanks for any help

I feel like maybe there’s one guy with multiple profiles bringing the antagonism. There are two specific member profiles whose content is almost entirely made up of argumentative, disrespectful and belittling replies. I’ve seen them go after each other…mirror images of douchebaggery.

I didn't study every response in this thread but here's a few thoughts. I'm not a CFI. Just a pilot that's owned a '67 F for over twenty years with a non-WAAS GNS430. - I spent $18K right after I bought my airplane due to audio panel issues. Get your audio panel working correctly if it's bugging you but it's an invasive item to install with lots of wiring. Ask the shop if they can do it in such a way to facilitate future radio upgrades. - Having everything working and working reliably is the most important thing to me regardless of what's in your panel. It's not about the number of features; it's about being able to depend on what you have. - If my home airport didn't have a tower and an ILS, I'd probably have WAAS. So far it hasn't been worth the pain to upgrade (downtime and money). - There is one thing I really don't like about the Garmin GNS 430 CDI when you're flying a localizer approach. The glide slope needle stays centered; it's not hidden. If you're used to an ILS but the glide slope is down and you're flying the localizer instead, you've really gotta remind yourself that the glide slope is out of service; otherwise you'll see the centered glide slope needle and think you're on the glide slope. To me it's always seemed like an accident waiting to happen. A poor CDI design that shouldn't have been allowed. - When I'm training or flying practice approaches, I almost always do it with the autopilot turned off; I hand fly whenever I have a CFI in the right seat. - I went with the cheaper and easier to install Uavionix AV30 instead of a Garmin EFIS; I'm satisfied (except for one software upgrade that required factory support to resolve). Make sure it has the most current software before it's installed.

Not sure what year your C is (and the early IPCs are a little sketchy), but the hole in the front cowl was used to duct cooling air to the fuel pump. Sometimes that duct was routed up to the generator for cooling, but I’m not sure if that was ever how the factory intended it. Later C models, the fuel pump cooling plenum replaced the cold air plenum to the muffler shroud behind #3 cylinder when that was moved in front of #2 cylinder.

Starter Adapter Oil Leak (TCM Engines)
kortopates replied to Ragsf15e's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
There isn’t really a gasket, just thread and sealant. The TCM sealant isn’t the best either. Many use an aftermarket sealant. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Starter Adapter Oil Leak (TCM Engines)
Ragsf15e replied to Ragsf15e's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
Ive got to do a little more investigation and see if i can be certain where it’s coming from. If it’s the threaded seal @kortopates mentioned, it can apparently be fixed without removing the starter adapter which is a big deal. The actual seal is only like $25 too. I will just have to find someone who has experience doing that as it involves taking off the back of the starter adapter where it connects to the alternator pulley. Next week I’ll play around with my new borescope and see if I can find exactly where it’s coming from. -
Right - this was for J models that already had the MSE updates from the factory. There’s a specified range of serial numbers. The SB just requires checking the rudder balance and updating the flight manual. For aircraft with the original airspeed indicator, you also need to update the ASI (Mooney sold a new ASI as part of a 2900 MGW kit). But for aircraft with a digital ASI, it can be done in configuration settings.
-
It’s not an STC though - the 2900 MGW uses a factory type certificate. ETA: Sorry, I hadn’t read far enough down the thread. You already clarified this.

Big layoffs reported at ForeFlight.
N201MKTurbo replied to Jeff Uphoff's topic in Miscellaneous Aviation Talk
Maybe their software department was too big. There are not a lot of new features I want or need from ForeFlight. It’s like Microsoft, their office products haven’t had many new features in years, they just keep rearranging the UI to make it more confusing. I wish they would fire the developers and leave it alone. But they have to keep the illusion that you are getting some new value for your money to support their subscription model. With ForeFlight I know I’m getting value for my subscription, I always have current charts and that’s what I really care about. I wonder how many pilots these days have never used a paper chart? -
Apparently his position is that it's acceptable practice to abuse those whom you don't respect. Yeah, like this.

Donaldson filter landing light lens cover led landing light ARI cowl enclosure New paint on the upper, lower and side cowlings UNFORTUNATELY, the rest of the plane now looks REALLY bad!

Re read what I wrote, what others have wrote and you’ll have your answer. You got the ADHD?

Yes he was also on prescription Cyclobenzaprine/Flexeril muscle relaxant and Zofram which is also impairing.....so there is that.

Even though he's not in AZ or NM, the first person I would check with is @Cody Stallings with anything prop-related.
