dcrogers11 Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 There have been a few sold here on this forum in the past so just checking to see if there are any out there with low time that could be bought. Thanks, Don Quote
jetdriven Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 To get permission from S-Tec to use the STC for your aircraft, you must send back all the components back to them to be re-certified. Of course the cost comes in about the same as a new unit. Quote
N601RX Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Have you considered a Brittain Accutrac? Its a fraction of the cost and works very well. Quote

It's fine to shove in an experimental but you need to recertify for our planes. Quote

N601RX Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Yes. I had an extra one that I sold to another member a couple of weeks ago. It was the accutrack and accuflite. I have both of these on my plane as well as their altitude hold. Their stuff works very well and is a easy upgrade (low install cost) for planes that already have the wing leveler. Quote
Bob_Belville Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 When I ordered a step retract servo from Brittain a couple of months ago I asked about their autopilot business. They maintain about a 1 year backlog! Good folks. Quote

Actually, recent anecdotal evidence indicates that they've softened this stance somewhat... in that the cost isn't nearly as bad as it was just a year or two ago. Quote
