Oscar Avalle Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 I try to fly once a week. Family and work don't always allow this to become a reality. Quote
rbridges Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 about twice a week since I'm doing instrument training. I'm sure that will drop to once/week after the checkride. Quote
Parker_Woodruff Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 If I've got time to go to the airport and pull the plane out of the hangar to ground run it, I've got time to go take it for a quick local flight or a few trips around the pattern. 1 Quote

Parker_Woodruff Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 That didn't work for you last Saturday Oh, I had the time. But Tower sure didn't have the time for me! Quote
Cody Stallings Posted December 8, 2012 Report Posted December 8, 2012 My job has me flying 1-5 times a week..... There have been a few weeks I have logged 20+hr. but that was in the cessna. Can't wait to start putting more time on the F model. Quote
DrBill Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 Usually 2x per month. Once for a PNP flight (Pilots N Paws) and the other for either fun, lunch or currency (approaches). BILL Quote
Lionudakis Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 I've never flown as little since owning one. Seems backwards, but that's how it's working Quote
GeneralT001 Posted April 14, 2022 Report Posted April 14, 2022 Just want to revive this topic. Any new thoughts on just doing a ground run if the wx doesn't permit actual flight? I'm finding it hard to get airborne often on the West Coast in winter time. Quote

Ground runs aren’t the best for engine health… So if that is the plan… re-think the plan…. Once around the pattern would be better… for driving moisture out places that moisture doesn’t belong… And it shakes the cobwebs out of the pilot… It’s all about handling exhaust byproducts… PP thoughts as usual… Best regards, -a- 3 Quote

0TreeLemur Posted April 20, 2022 Report Posted April 20, 2022 After about 16 days with no flight time, I start to get twitchy. The sound of a propeller passing overhead makes me feel like I'm missing out. I find myself catching up on reading Plane & Pilot, EAA Sport Aviation, looking for Mooney parts online, and living vicariously by reading posts on MS. Guess what, it's been 17 days since 0TreeLemur went in for annual. Hope to get 'er back this weekend. I've got two work-related trips scheduled in May. 1 Quote
