How much does this help with cooling?

Are you talking about this mod?

I have had it since 1995 and with an Insight GEM monitoring things, I can't say it has helped that much. I did pick up a couple of miles per hour speed though. That surprised me...

I got mine prior to my JPI install, but on the old CHT/oil temp gauge, I was pretty hot. After the install, there was a noticable temperature decrease. Can't really quantify it, but it was noticable, especially in climb. 1963 M20C.

Same here. I stand to be corrected, but if I recall correctly, my CHT's dropped by almost 20 deg. I didn't gain any speed though.

I am getting the LASAR done this week on my M20C 65. Before I drop the aircraft, I took note of the true speed (4 directions method with GPS) and also the different temperatures. One thing I should have done was take note of the outside air temperature which I did not however this might be available somewhere. Much cooler these days.

I will post differences when I get the plane back, possibly this coming week-end.

I got the airplane back on Friday. Did a quick test and here are the results:

Airspeed: 3KT more than what I had before.

Ground speed: I'll have top redo this, seems like one of my measurements was wrong.

Temperature, CHT was 10 degrees less however the OAT was much lower than when I did it initially.

All the rest is the same.

I installed one on my M20B this past summer. I would say my cylinder head temps dropped from 5 to 10 degrees. I also gained the advertised 3kt increase in speed.
