Immelman Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 During this year's annual I was staring at my airplane on jacks for a while when we had the gear retracted. I noticed that my left MLG was hanging down a bit more than the right. When I eyeballed from ahead or behind the wing, trying to line my eye up with the wing chord line, I would see just a little bit of tire hanging down on the right MLG, and about 1-1.5" more tire on the left MLG. The gear is fine and within spec when extended; preloads good, no issues, gear doors fit relatively well (though there is a little bit of a gap on the left side). Has anyone dealt with this before? I am wondering how much speed it is costing me. I think its the type of problem that if I want to address I need to take to a good MSC. Quote
Mooney65E Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Sounds like you may need to have the gear door linkage adjusted. I'm sure it's creating some drag if your doors aren't seating properly. Find a MSC and have them fine tune it. Quote
