"A" is a modest vowel:  though first, not most common.  

It seems a shame to omit it when required in "separate" and abuse it unnecessarily in "definite."

Haven't you heard? There is a proposal in congress to make all same double letters in words single leters to save on text costs. If this is aproved al words wil not cary double same leters. They estimate it wil save one bilion dolars.
