billy hellcat Posted April 15, 2025 Report Posted April 15, 2025 Anybody have a steering horn assembly for 1968 m20C? Going in annual and I might need one. Thanks
kortopates Posted April 15, 2025 Report Posted April 15, 2025 Shouldn’t, free play is usually removed by changing out shims. Different shim sizes are listed in the IPC and available from LASAR or your favorite MSC. LASAR also used to rebuild them like new as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Matthew P Posted April 15, 2025 Report Posted April 15, 2025 Lasar has a press in bushing kit that tightens everything up

cliffy Posted April 16, 2025 Report Posted April 16, 2025 Just to clarify- are you talking about the BIG vertical bushing that the steering turns around on or the monkey motion linkage at the top of the wheel well? If its the BIG one this is a place that is missed on virtually every annual as it is required to retorque this bolt assembly every annual AND the torque has been reduced from the original value by a Service Bulletin It can take lots of grease every year also.

Yes Sir, that's the one..and you are right about it being missed, there is another mooney owner that was unaware of the requirement to recheck the revised to setting annually
