Stan Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 My Mooney Part# 610015-001 Airight, Inc. gascolator fuel screen (filter) needs to be replaced. The parts manual shows no filter screen or number, and it also appears Airright was bought by AAPH. Does anyone have a source of this part? Quote
EricJ Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 AS has some gascolator screens with the dimensions indicated. If the dimensions match it should be usable. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/pnpages/05-03436.php Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 This is probably the right part. https://lasar.com/seal-kits/gascolator-screen-hedukes-10543-1 Quote

N201MKTurbo Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 That part number is for the whole gascolator. Not the screen. BTW, I have one of those in my junk pile. Quote

Yes, the two screens on AS are 10543-2 and 10543-74, with the same dimensions for each, so I suspect they'll fit the gascolator. It's easy enough to measure the existing one and make certain. Quote

PT20J Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 My 94 M20J has the 610015-001 gascolator. It's an Airight 51250-9 with a red can. The screen isn't flat; its a cylinder. See drawing attached. There's one listed on eBay for $69 obo described as for parts only. You could contact the seller and see if the screen is good if this is the one you need. https://www.ebay.com/itm/365014530937?_skw=airight+gascolator&itmmeta=01JPBHD6K87BFDGJ82M6691XPS&hash=item54fc8fbb79:g:NOgAAOSwofxmlrbp&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA8FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1e8giZ%2Fo0Fmdx519imTQZxM8mY%2BgxLKR4ABUUt1Q3BIa%2BmiPO4GTjs0O0HZVBFkX0Gw9T2o52%2BT7ksDVvXiXZxgmDg7Z%2BI%2FnDSHaSF3ye%2BJ8%2FEcyh%2BXpQuEjS%2F7iRflZDqjiWzPlj0JfA8a0uy9jrZf2DvynXltw%2F%2BmD0aiVBPHHks5atZn0mY06bf8gDKJWbd%2BNztIlGelGnFECshWndxIHxCkB97w9RdXntgjnMuM91iQre2ewyohIndRG5bhMQ2ZvOqzoeSOe14H1NR620A70EV9MBTExC%2Fsx%2BsX5%2BW2jA%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR8DqtPGyZQ Airight 51250-9 Gascolator.pdf Quote
Stan Posted March 15 Author Report Posted March 15 Yes the part number is for the complete Gascolator, however no screen is shown. Skip, I have an 89 J and the same can as yours. Here is what the screen/filter looks like: Quote
PT20J Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 If the screen isn’t torn, perhaps you could just straighten it. Otherwise the one on eBay might be serviceable. Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 I’ll be out at the airport tomorrow, I could check the screen in the one I have. Quote
PT20J Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 Curious how the old one was damaged. I wonder if some tried to assemble it with out the circlip and it got cocked in the cup? 1 Quote
Stan Posted March 16 Author Report Posted March 16 Skip, That is my question also. It looks like it was pushed down from the top, so possibly the mechanic stepped on it. My mechanic had a new guy helping him, so who knows? Quote

My mechanic had a new guy helping him, so who knows? I don't see any reason to not try to repair that one by straightening it out. It should be evident whether there's any unrepairable damage. And, yeah, that's completely different than the little disk screen in many gascolators, including my M20J. Quote
