I have always wanted to take it to a scale and verify exactly what the weight is, but never got around to it. The latest W&B sheet has it just a tick over 900 though. I'm going to snap a photo of that W&B sheet, plus all the logs, etc pretty soon and will update the listing. Quote

I bet you're a hoot at parties. You aren't completely wrong though. Those numbers vary quite a lot with conditions, altitude, etc... obviously. I wasn't trying to say every time you take the aircraft up that you're going to get the exact same performance. Sometimes it's 172kts... sometimes it's 177kts. Sometimes it's 12.2gph... sometimes it's 13.3gph. For example, here is a photo of 175kts on 12gph @ 10.5k feet. (note, this is before we removed the Moritz gauges) 4 Quote

If anything changes and we cannot come to terms, I'll update the thread. Just so it doesn't come back to bite you, you might want to fix the weight and balance. Your W & B document shows max weight as 3368. It is a common misconception that the 310hp STC on the M20S raised the gross weight from 3200 to 3368 (the gross weight of an Ovation). Kevin Hawley from Mooney recently on Facebook again confirmed that the Max weight on an M20S (Eagle) is 3200. The Eagle 2 had a Gross Weight of 3300. Quote
M20S Driver Posted Monday at 12:28 AM Report Posted Monday at 12:28 AM Mooney pushed the STC as HP and GW increase. I did not need the HP increase and bought it for GW increase. Mooney needs to make an official statement and be ready to issue refunds due to misrepresentation before posting things on social media. Also, all the charts in the STC and manual supplement are based on 3368lb. Driver 2 Quote

Here’s a screenshot from the AFM supplement for the 310hp upgrade that I just downloaded off the Mooney website. It’s pretty clear that their own AFM Supplement says the MGW for the M20S is 3368 (limitations section). 1 Quote

Yes, Kevin Hawley mentioned that the Flight Manual supplement is misleading - that's probably what he's referring to. You'd have to read the STC and see if the M20S specifically mentions a gross weight increase. It would have to increase an Eagle from 3200 and an Eagle 2 from 3300. Mooney bought the STC from Bob Minnis (Minnis Aviation LLC). Who knows? Minnis may have just assumed that the R and the S had the same Max Gross Weight. I definitely don't have a dog in this fight, but was just passing the recent FB post along to the seller that now would be the time to verify this with Mooney so that the buyer doesn't come back and cry misrepresentation later. That can get expensive. 1 Quote
