Sun Visor Decal?

The "cruise power schedule" on my sun visor is worn off. Would be handy to have right there instead of diving into the iPad. Is anyone aware of an existing replacement? The actual visor is out of stock at LASAR (I've got a J model.) The visor itself is in excellent condition, just some of the silk screening has worn off over the years. If there isn't one already, I may look into having a bunch made up, say white printed on clear vinyl.

Just type a new copy from your Owners Manual / POH, print it whatever size is convenient and put it in your knee board. I did all of the Performance Tables for my C and stuck it into my checklists printed in Word using "pamphlet layout", printed double-sided on my single-sided printer, cold laminated the whole thing and it lives on my knee board, available at a glance.

I hate having to scroll around through a tablet in flight looking for things like this. Instead I just flip a few pages. Blank paper lives there, too, for writing frequency changes, clearances, flight times, etc. It's too difficult using a touch screen when it's bouncy, and can require eyes off the panel for too long when IMC.

That's a great idea, thanks! However, I'm looking not only to have it at hand, but also to sort of put my Mooney back to "factory spec" for a lot of things. A nice new visor with sharp printing would look a lot better than an old worn out one.

Take it to a screen printing company and have them redo it.

I have a Bravo and I quickly learned that using the power settings on the visor is a great way to trash your engine. I totally get the back-to-stock mentality, but the stock visors are pretty worthless. Stupid expensive, but I’m going to be adding Rosen visors soon.

The original is a self adhesive decal. Mooney should have them or can probably make one (Frank Crawford makes various decals to order). Email Frank for availability and part number and then order through a MSC. Fcrawford@mooney.com.

Mine is silk screened onto the visor itself. It flakes off now that it’s old.

Maybe Mooney did different things at different times. I know there was a decal because I bought one to put on my 1978 M20J that didn't have one at all.

Wow and i thought Rosen visors were stupid expensive i can’t imagine what original visors cost. Having said that, Don’s visors are a great set of visors that he makes at CB prices what’s not to like?

Remove your old visor, trace it onto new plexiglass sheet, saw it out and sand the edges smooth. It will now look much better withiut the crazing; use smoked plexi and apply decal if desired.

But you don’t get the full articulating visor arms and mooney’s visor was too small Don’s much bigger like rosen but without the sticker shock. Took less than 5mins total to swap out too.

A shop tech broke my pilot side visor some time ago.  It was less expensive to replace both with Rosen visors than to purchase a single factory one.

I haven’t seen @DonMuncy’s  visors, but I would expect them to be better suited to a Mooney cabin than are the Rosen visors, which are about 25% bigger than they should be.

I did keep the factory right side visor, should anybody want a less expensive alternative to the factory new one.

+1 for Don's visors. They're significantly larger than factory but still able to be maneuvered into many positions. Price is amazing for the value.
