You need to go to Interface and see what protocol is feeding your 660. When I had Aviation In feeding the 760 it worked, but I had no curved flight path including holding. Since I posted this, others have indicated having the same issue as I, so almost certainly it is a Gamin software issue that they don't seem interested in solving. Quote

It's a very nice unit BTW, thanks for all the advice and info on selection. My plane is a legacy G1000, so I have no data feed, just the ADS B from the GTX345R. My data fields setup. The 760 is in Simulator mode so the bottom left 2 data fields are populated. When fed MapMX from a GTN 750 Xi they are blank. Quote

Don’t know the difference between the protocols, maybe Connext would work for you? Quote

Don’t know the difference between the protocols, maybe Connext would work for you? Connext is bluetooth. Don has had his hard-wired to the other avionics in his panel with a Aera 760 bare-wire data cable kit (https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/avpages/aera760_hardwire.php). He mentioned that he recently had the extra wiring installed so that he could use both MapMX where it is advantageous and aviation-in where needed. The Aera 760 should be able to do this, but where the disconnect really lies is in communication within Garmin, apparently with their units not understanding the interfacing capabilities between portables and panel-mounted devices. I am paying close attention to this since I would like to interface my Aera 760 to the G1000, which my avionics shop believes is possible. I'm hoping at least for the flight plan on the G1000 to transfer to the Aera 760, which the shop is confident they can do. The shop thinks, if wired properly, I may be able to send a flight plan from the Aera 760 to the G1000 (I have my doubts about that.) Quote
ArtVandelay Posted July 11, 2024 Report Posted July 11, 2024 Connext is bluetooth.Connext is NOT solely Bluetooth. My 660 is hardwired as well.Connext is generally used for ADSB traffic, weather , and flight plans, but may include generic GPS as well. Quote

I understand - I was oversimplifying - but it's Garmin's way of doing a wired to a wireless bridge. I don't have it on my panel, and wish that the G1000 supported an FS510, but I've heard that is also a weak point, especially when trying to update panel databases. Quote
LANCECASPER Posted July 11, 2024 Report Posted July 11, 2024 I'm on hold with Garmin Support right now since my Nav database on my Aera 760 which expired yesterday won't update. I called early (7:50 a.m.) and was told it would be a 22 minute wait. It's now been an hour and thirty minutes on hold. EDIT: Finally got through and they did a NAV database re-set on their end and solved in 5 min. He said every month on the first day of the database cycle it's a long wait for people calling in. 1 Quote
BlueSky247 Posted July 18, 2024 Report Posted July 18, 2024 Guess this is as good a place as any... This is probably old news to most of you... Since I've been watching so many avionics videos on YT, it just showed me the GFC600's automatic rudder bias routine for twins. It uses the EIS and automatically kicks in the moment there is an engine failure, regardless of whether the AP is on. I think it becomes active at 700' AGL, iirc. That's pretty damned cool. Quote
