natdm Posted July 21, 2023 Report Posted July 21, 2023 @meddesign love it and want to print one. Thanks for the effort! Looks like the first link needs a paid/trial account and second requires to pay to see the replies (and attachments). Any chance you're willing to put it on printables or thingiverse? Or email it to me and I can do it for you. Quote

natdm Posted July 22, 2023 Report Posted July 22, 2023 Printed two. The one with the latch 'grip' facing upward looks cleanest except the bottom (supports can be a nasty business). The other one on its side turned out not as clean, even with 0.2mm layer, but very clean on the back. PETG, 20% infill, organic supports, Prusa Mk3 2 Quote
meddesign Posted July 24, 2023 Author Report Posted July 24, 2023 (edited) back is most important as that is against the window and vent...somewhat difficult to hold while drilling to get a square hole I like the white better than my black Mine seems to be holding up in the heat my bird lives outside but there is a cover......and only the 90's Edited July 24, 2023 by meddesign 2 Quote

meddesign Posted July 25, 2023 Author Report Posted July 25, 2023 I had ordered a part from someone in State College because I did not know if my friend would be able to print my model. I got it and it is by far the best I have seen ....except for the hole closing in it is close to perfect... It was printed with carbon fiber laced abs that bambu labs offers...... 1 Quote
Buckeyechuck Posted July 26, 2023 Report Posted July 26, 2023 May be a stupid comment but what about the folks who make replacement windows. When we replaced our windows years ago the vent, hinges, and latch was included. Quote
Igor_U Posted July 26, 2023 Report Posted July 26, 2023 ^^^^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^^ I believe LPAero.com was selling Latches years ago when i bought new windows. Quote

meddesign Posted August 2, 2023 Author Report Posted August 2, 2023 (edited) Here is a good example of Creep in a plastic part with my first print of ABS ....I have swapped out to the fiber reinforced one ....maybe it will do better....however this one was still working and probably would have been fine ... Paul Thomas Posted Thursday at 03:07 AM Report Posted Thursday at 03:07 AM @meddesign@natdm Could either of you upload the files now that the file formats have been added? I had my neighbor print the one meant for the pipers and it's not quite the right fit. I'll have to go back with some washers to see if I can make it work but the correct file would be better. Thank you, Paul Quote
corn_flake Posted Thursday at 03:10 AM Report Posted Thursday at 03:10 AM For what it's worth, I made one 6 years ago using ABS. Smooth it out using acetone. It doesn't even look like 3D printed. It's still working fine today. Quote
