BlueMoon Posted April 1, 2022 Report Posted April 1, 2022 This is my first post on the group, so I apologize if this is in the wrong spot. I am considering purchasing a M20C that sustained a gear up landing. Does anyone have a serviceable propeller and/or O-360 available for sale? Quote

Best regards, -a- Thanks for the welcome and the recommendation for parts. I am an A&P/IA and have been looking for the right aircraft to upgrade from our economical 150 and it looks like the M20C may be a good option. 1 Quote
carusoam Posted April 1, 2022 Report Posted April 1, 2022 The M20C is an awesome option…! Add these other resources to your list… @SheryLoewen @Jerry Pressley These two have also been in the Mooney parts business for decades… The M20C has the venerable O360… and is the baseline for speed and efficiency at an affordable price…. The M20E has the fuel injected IO360…. And is the ultimate efficiency machine for running LOP so easily… Go Mooney! Best regards, -a- Quote
Hank Posted April 1, 2022 Report Posted April 1, 2022 Look into the one-piece belly, too. My C acquired one after its gear up (before my time), you will enjoy it every annual! Quote

N9405V Posted April 1, 2022 Report Posted April 1, 2022 Lasar, Don Maxwell, Southwest Texas Aviation, Dugosh Aviation are all Mooney Service Centers that might have the parts you need. Alan Fox is easy and great to deal with. The factory may even have some of the parts you need. Lots of resources out there. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
cliffy Posted April 4, 2022 Report Posted April 4, 2022 In reality you only really have to do the AD on the engine aft crank gear to reuse the engine. How much time was on the engine? How long ago was it overhauled? How good are the overhaul records Lots of decisions to reuse it but it is an option. I know the arrows will fly but that really is all you need on the engine. The prop of course is another matter. By the blade angles it looks as if it was at idle when it started plowing the ground. Shields up! Quote
Utah20Gflyer Posted April 4, 2022 Report Posted April 4, 2022 The cost of a serviceable used O 360 is going to be similar to the cost of an Iran except in the case of an Iran you will know exactly what the condition of the engine is and will have the opportunity to address what ever it needs. In the case of a used engine it could have a bad cam and you are not going to know about it until you’ve put a hundred hours on the engine and the filter is full of metal. Personally I would do the IRAN in your situation. Quote
