Hello Everyone

Student pilot here just bought my Mooney today.  Got an M20E.  Starting my complex, and high performance training as soon as the weather clears up here in Ohio.  Getting the panel upgraded probably through winter time using Dynon and an IFD540.  I think this is my final plane but only time will tell.  It currently fits my mission to train, get my IFR, and take family just about anywhere we need to go.  Glad to be here as a member finally, been lurking for months.

Welcome to MS Air Force dude. That will be a sweet ride with those upgrades. Please post pics as you can of the modifications to the panel.

You won't be able to get a high performance endorsement (or training) in an M20E. HP is* more than* 200 HP and the is *is* 200 HP.

Weird, the insurance requested it.  I'll just have to do that in an actual HP plane at the flight school then.  Oh well.

It may not BE a high performance plane, but it sure does fly like one.

You may want to remind them the airplane isn't HP by FAA rule.

With several hundred M20-C hours, getting the HP Endorsement in a 182 didn't teach me anything (except how to make my first-ever 182 landing at night, at a Class D, with a dead electrical system, partial flaps [10°?], no lights, no radios, and my first ever sight of tower green lights). My C accelerates rapidly when the nose points down, the Cessna not so much.

Best of luck dude!  It is exciting to have your own plane I hope you get a lot of good use out of it!  Nice looking bird and with a newer(ish) panel will make a great platform!
