Plane is down for an engine upgrade, and my CHT probe had just failed. I have a JPI830, so I wasn’t too concerned, but it’s not a primary replacement, so my factory CHT really should work. The STC for the upgrade calls for remarking the factory gauge, and I know my IA is going to want it to work. The green will now start at 300F. Someone have one they would part with for a reasonable fee? No sense in buying a new one, I’ll be going with a dynon skyview HDX as soon as it’s approved for the autopilot, and I plan to do the engine monitor with the dynon. thanks, Bryan Bryan, I am not sure if you found a solution as yet but I have the same issue. My airplane calls for a probe part number Stewart Warner SW333-B. I have called SW and they are out of production. I tried the universal one and it appears to not work for my application. Let me share with you the specs for the Stewart Warner part and the Rochester one on Aircraft Spruce. I am certainly not an electrical engineer, but I do not believe they are exchangeable particularly relative to their respective resistance at temperature. I am not sure what the FAA expects us to do in these instances. Spend over 5K for and STC'ed primary? Anyone have a solution? BobStewart Warner SW333B.pdf Rochester 3080-38.pdf Quote

None were available... As in all the MSCs had an empty shelf where that part number was posted... Getting a new one made was a four month lead time... Check your local MSC... Then contact Mooney directly... There is always going to be a need for replacements for these things... they last a long time, but not forever... They are not so special that another company can’t build them... We have two short term choices... Get the JPI, EI, Big G color screen with a new thermistor to go with that... Or find an MSer that has done that already... and buy the used one from them... (worked for me) To contact Mooney... they have an email address, or a website, or a couple of MS user names... Act quickly, the faster you get started... the faster this problem will be behind you... Don’t fear contacting Mooney... Best regards, -a- Quote
