231Pilot Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 I took delivery of my "new" 1985 231 yesterday (Halloween). 2.6 hours of flying in the San Antonio area, pattern work at Kerrville, and getting familiar with the systems, followed by a 3.7 hour flight (headwinds all the way) to Albuquerque, and then a 3 hour flight (more headwinds) to Salt Lake International. Long day, but what a great flying airplane! Handles well, fantastic climb performance, respectable cruise speeds (even with the head winds I still got speeds equal to or better than the "no wind" speeds of my former 201), and easy to land (just like all Mooney aircraft, it's a matter of speed control). I'm a happy, but slightly weary guy. Pictures to follow. Quote
Skyatty Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Hope to run into you some time Lew, my J model is at SLC. Quote
Jimhamilton Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Hi Lew, I also have my M20K parked at KSLC. Would love to meet you some day. N4710H is parked at hangar 19 row 12. It's not really a Hangar but rather covered parking. Jim Hamilton Quote

MooneyMitch Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 Quote: 201Pilot I'm looking forward to it. Maybe you and Jim and I can get a local Mooney Group together, if there isn't one already. Quote
