The suction screen was safety cabled at the factory on my A3B6 rebuilt. It looked so pretty, we hated to cut it. Kind of pricey if you’re not doing a lot, but you’d be the envy of every IA that looks at your airplane. :)

Love to see you try to get one of those behind the engine :)

See, that would be my fear: I’d pay $500 for the thing and then every really difficult job would be one where it wouldn’t work. :P

My friend found one used somewhere.   I think he only paid $100 for it or something like that, and then bought a couple packages of the cables.   That's not too terrible.    I know where he keeps it, so I'm covered.  ;)

The mechanic at the museum has one of those torque wrenches. They are very cool! I’ve never been able to find a 3/8” drive 1” socket — seems the largest I ever find is 7/8. Is that a Snap-on part also?

I had this one on my Christmas wish list: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B007TMEBLQ/

The one I've borrowed in the past I think is a craftsman. It works great with a normal torque wrench to tighten the filter on my A3B6D.

Following up, I just noticed that a nice Craftsman 3/8" socket set is on clearance at Ace and includes a 1" socket plus 8 others. They have 12 points and appear to be low-profile, so it should work well on the oil filter. Made in the USA. $9.99 on clearance, normally $28.99.
