Dream to fly Posted October 8, 2020 Report Posted October 8, 2020 I have been trying to purchase a 201 windshield upgrade kit for my M20F. I am having no luck reaching anyone at LASAR. Are they still operational? I have left a message a week ago and again today, and I have submitted a form online. I am hoping I didn't drag my feet too long. Quote
McMooney Posted October 8, 2020 Report Posted October 8, 2020 I'm sure they are, talked to them yesterday regarding an avionics installation 1 Quote
RobertGary1 Posted October 8, 2020 Report Posted October 8, 2020 They’re pretty close to the fires so maybe their hours are modified? There is a fire tfr just south of them. -Robert Quote
Dream to fly Posted October 8, 2020 Author Report Posted October 8, 2020 Awesome I hope they respond. I need a windshield and really don't want to put the OE back in. I had someone previously doing an annual decide to tighten the screws up the side by the door. That split the plastic and it's not good. The crack is over 3/4 in long. carusoam Posted October 9, 2020 Report Posted October 9, 2020 The windshield itself... Is probably available from GLAP... the window people... https://www.glapinc.com/Mooney/m20K.htm#windshields if the old one needs to be repaired.. a proper stop drill hole should work.. There is also a trim piece that doesn’t usually survive the out and back in process...Lasar would supply that... Good luck with your next steps, you might leave a note with @LASAR they might get an email notification if they set it up correctly... Best regards, -a- 2 Quote

Their parts facility in Lakeport is closer to a fire, though.. In my experience the phone rings at Lakeport. -Robert Quote

Dream to fly Posted October 27, 2020 Author Report Posted October 27, 2020 I was losing my mind not getting in contact and sure enough they were just super busy and needed some time. I am still a NYer and my time seems to move a little faster than most. Dan@LASAR got my order shipped and handled without incident and kept me in the loop the whole way. UPS on the other hand I think carried the box on the outside of the truck and when it was delivered it was obviously damaged by the shipping company. I called Dan right away, sent pictures and it was handled, Problem solved! It was an absolute pleasure not to have to fight the system. I was a little more than irate when I was gearing up to call and within minutes of talking to Dan the situation was handled and replacement parts were on the way. THANK YOU LASAR. As for UPS they have called scheduled an inspection and tried multiple avenues as to explain how the box got cellophane tape on the bottom and a forklift tine thru the side of the box. The local adjuster even tried to tell me that she can buy that windshield kit for under $700. I told her go ahead and I'd buy two! Lucky the tine never hit the windshield or the other panel pieces only the hardware pouch fell out. 2 Quote
MBDiagMan Posted October 27, 2020 Report Posted October 27, 2020 I called them Friday and they answered on the first ring after I listened to the options and made my selection. Quote
