Yes used to fly Arrow for a while not the best system neither, ideally it is the pilot who extends the gear by his arm force or a button 

The best warning systems tend to be visual people get deaf and memory fails, the gear control is the M20J sits on my vision field that helps but would like a plexiglass floor with two mirrors
