McMooney Posted January 1, 2020 Report Posted January 1, 2020 (edited) woot, wifey Santa brought me a new Airplane toy this year 8) I wish the ancient avionics in our planes could be so easily updated. I swear if I had the cash, i'd figure out a way to get it done. Edited January 1, 2020 by McMooney adding screenshot Quote
carusoam Posted January 1, 2020 Report Posted January 1, 2020 Nice pictorial Pirep, McMooney. Now to find the best way to mount it in the panel or on the yoke. Best regards, -a- Quote
McMooney Posted January 1, 2020 Author Report Posted January 1, 2020 It's about an inch wider than my ipad mini 5, thinking it'll fit in the same x-grip. Quote
rbridges Posted January 2, 2020 Report Posted January 2, 2020 I know, it's crazy how much more advanced the tablets are than the certified units. Quote
Raptor05121 Posted January 2, 2020 Report Posted January 2, 2020 Very nice! I have the S4 and am interested in the new S6s. Quote

Hank Posted January 2, 2020 Report Posted January 2, 2020 Always good to see another true fan here in the fruit bowl! I'm still enjoying my Galaxy Tab A running Avare, works great for me and the price is right! Quote

EricJ Posted January 2, 2020 Report Posted January 2, 2020 I have two Tab Es and an ancient Tab 3 that still works wonderfully and is my backup. I maintain Avare on all three, one of them also has FltPln Go on it in for diversity in case Avare has a system failure of some kind. I also have my old S4 phone in my bag and it, too, has Avare on it but I'm diligent about maintaining it. I've let passengers use it to follow the map, see ADS-B-in traffic, etc. It's a nice ecosystem. I like it. Quote
McMooney Posted January 2, 2020 Author Report Posted January 2, 2020 Replaced my s2 tab 8.0 with an ipad mini 5 cellular, due to it running out of space and being dog slow. Replaced the Galaxy Tab S3 due to it running out of space, GP with all the options is quite large; also GP doesn't like running from the SD card. Quote

Eric - Have you used, if you are equipped to do so, the AHRS function on FltPln Go App? I recently had a GTX345 installed and, while I'm able to now access this feature, it doesn't seem to be working properly. Not sure if it's an App issue or Xponder issue. Hope to use a free trial for Garmin Pilot this week on a flight so i'll see if that works but thought i'd check with another FltPln Go user. Quote

I haven't, but I should try it with the AHRS in my Stratux. The Avare app does *not* work with the Stratux AHRS, but I'm not sure about FltPln Go. 1 Quote

Looking now, according to this the Stratux AHRS should work in FltPln Go.http://stratux.me/#efb-compatibility Quote

The attitude indicator doesn't seem to track what's going on so I'm not sure if it's a GTX345 issue or an issue with the App. 1 Quote
