Hi folks

I have the following overhead plastic panels available for sale.....DCMooniac has PM'ed me first on these and has first dibs...for a while, anyway. They were removed from our 1977 M20J for a cabin vent upgrade. Best offer!

Please, please, please--while your ceiling panels are out, can you take a photo?

The GPS antenna exchange during the 430WAAS upgrade destroyed the little plastic piece that sends air from the scoop to the overhead round vents. Could you please snap a picture? Mine was in a million little pieces, and had some damage from the original antenna install; nobody has any, and with no reference I can't even owner-supply one.

Thanks for anything you can do!

Hi Hank

I have a PDF of the pages from the M20J parts manual of the entire overhead duct system, which was a carryover from the F. I can post or send it if you want. Will that help?

What we did was convert our old overhead vent system to the dorsal fin inlet system. Basically we put in all the parts necessary to make the airplane like a later model M20J, to include reskinning the aft top fuselage where the old extendable scoop was..and an all new headliner from Plane Plastics.  Multiple AMUs!!  Surprised

Normal--

A clear, readable copy would be wonderful! My Parts Manual is quite cluttered and small, and very few details are visible for this little piece on the inside of the roof.

Thank you very much!

Hi Hank

I have the scan of the vents pages from the M20J part catalog, these are the early design similar to the F. Will try to PM them to you.

For Brian, we really like the controllability of the vent air through the eyeball vents. Also the dorsal vent is quieter when fully open.

I have always wondered if you could just, while retaining the OEM clamshell exterior vent, fabricate round plates out of aluminum the same diameter as the plastic OEM interior vents, and then cut holes in their centers to which you could mount wemac vents like we have on our pilot's sidepanels.  In my mind at least it would be a very clean installation and not too difficult if you had the headliner down anyway for some other reason.  Has anyone else considered or executed this idea?

Thanks, Norman! I'll work on it during annual & IFR certification, both due next month. Maybe it will be cool in the hangar then . . .

Vent Knob, above pilot 1977 m20J

So I was flying along and; bonk  the round black over head vent (heavy/television channel looking) knob drops from the ceiling.  I put it away with a plan to put it back, and guess what,  I put it somewhere so safe, I can't find it now.   So,   I need to find another one.    Any suggestions?
