Todd Cole Posted January 3, 2019 Report Posted January 3, 2019 I've got an M20-C, serial number 0009 with the Dukes emergency gear extension system which is no longer in production. Specifically looking for the cable, part number 560247-501. Have not had any luck searching salvage so far and have not come across an aftermarket replacement. Anyone have a suggestion as to locating a serviceable Dukes system or does anyone know of a manufacturer who makes a replacement? Quote
orionflt Posted January 3, 2019 Report Posted January 3, 2019 contact Mcfarlane https://www.mcfarlaneaviation.com/ and see if they can help. they should be able to copy the cable for you. Brian Quote
KSMooniac Posted January 3, 2019 Report Posted January 3, 2019 Someone is trying to sell a crank on eBay and they might have a cable with it.Sent from my LG-US996 using Tapatalk Quote
FastTex Posted January 3, 2019 Report Posted January 3, 2019 I recently went through the same issue and McFarlane custom made a cable for me. Results: beautiful new cable with Teflon protection. I bought a used one but when I saw and compared them I went for the new one. Just my PP 2c. Quote

rqajpa Posted February 19, 2019 Report Posted February 19, 2019 Any one know where I can get a Mooney 20E emergency extension cable? Mine is 40 years old. have it out of the plane. Todays technologey and mfg process mut be better than it was when this one was originally manufactured. Roger A Quote

Roger A not necessarily, inspect your cable and if it is not worn or damaged reinstall it. ensure the diameter of the cable is correct and hasn't worn or stretched. Quote
jetdriven Posted February 19, 2019 Report Posted February 19, 2019 Its basically Teleflex cable. McFarlane can make a new one Quote
TTaylor Posted February 20, 2019 Report Posted February 20, 2019 When replacing the cable, do tear the entire system down and replace the grease. I had a system where the manual extension would not work several years ago. After removing the gearbox between the cable and the gear motor we found that the grease had turned solid and would not allow the manual extension to operate. Good idea to solvent clean it out and replace the grease during the process. Quote
