Mooney drivers, put this event on your calendar please.  The 2nd annual event will be just a fun as the 1st!  Sponsered by the Santa Maria 99's again.  Mooney Ambassadors will be on display with lots of addtional great aircraft.  This years theme is Salute to Our Veteran's!

ok count us in ...that is if I ever learn to land in less than 3000 ft!!!!...LOL...obviously I am suffering from IFR landingitus...I am breaking out at 500 ft doing 100 kts and using 5000 ft to land with...kpc

I think the reason I donot slow down to 70 while in imc is that the controls feel so sloppy...your idea is good though,could be the same female voice coming from the g500 crying minimums ,minimums......or the really annoying terrain,terrain,pull up...pullup!!!...kpc

Floating, floating, floating..............oh my Mooney's floating!! [a litte tune we made up].

You can do it Kelly!  We land the Ovation at Oceano frequently.  It is speed control for sure.  70 knots across the #s for me, and it works everytime.  Off by mid-field if I'm feeling really good.

I have not had the IFR approach experience yet, but I have been wondering about that in the Ovation.  Time will tell I'm sure.

That will be a fun day and a fun way to show off your Mooney to folks.  Also, the even helps keep Oceano Airport on the map.  As is with all our GA airports, this is a terrific way to let local folks know the commuity value of our little slice of paradise GA airport, L52.

Hello All,

I just wanted to bump this up on the list.  Our event is a Salute to Veterans this year.  We are knee-deep in planning for this home town fly in. No admission charge, all welcome, children's activities, big band music, static displays, preferential treatment to all Mooneys!

Here is the trailer for our Oceano Airport Celebration Day.  For those on the west coast, it would be a fun day trip. Camping is available on the field.  We are hoping to beat our record of 120 airplanes this year!

Legal Disclaimer:  Weather and nerves pending.  HopePilot requires 15000 feet to land, which is why he is based at Edwards AFB.  Be prepared to set up the arresting cable for our arrival.

I keep forgetting to mention the "Wheel of Fortune" Roulette-type wheel that Oceano Fuel is offering.  Simply call the truck on 123.45 and they will deliver fuel right to you.  Tell them how much fuel you would like, then spin the wheel.  Every space has a winner, including one "free fuel" space.  Sounds like fun for all.
The weather looks to be holding... 58 degrees and mostly sunny. Bring your fleece jacket and come celebrate General Aviation with us.
