Congrats on the final solution...

you might find that Oxygen and rubber don't mix very well.  The oxidation is a bit higher in the all Oxygen environment. So the o ring may crack and get crumbly if exposed...

Measure the diameter of the wire. Check with California Push Pull. Inc. You will have to buy one with a knob, and cut off the part you don't need. My hangar elf changed mine several years ago. No prob

Put a little slightly soapy water on a cloth and wet down the area around the valve and the neck of the bottle - look for bubbles.
