Mooney support

Anyone else having trouble finding parts? I have called every MSC I can find with no luck. They are all telling me the same thing - no parts and no factory support- I'm looking for a new avionics master swtch for my Ovation, part# 930023-313 and am told it's not available and no substitute. What is everyone else doing for parts?

I have been going to salvage yards for some time with excellent results. After seeing the current state of the Mooney factory, I am not surprised about the lack of parts availability. Perhaps after they get done "winterizing" the factory so to speak, it will get better.

Maybe I'm not understanding the situation, but wouldn't an avionics switch be classified as a "Standard Electrical Part" under the regs?

Seems like I've flown a lot of planes from similar vintages (60s-70s) and they all have different avionics switches.

Parker, I am being told that this switch is also a breaker and Mooney specific. The amp size is different than the other switches so you are limited to this one switch

Mooney does not manufacture electrical components. Look carefully at the switch and you may find the manufacturer actual part number. Do a Google search with the part # and you will find the actual manufacturer and distribuitors. I found a bunch of replacement parts this way at a considerable lower price than Mooney.

I just had an Aspen installed and the STC requires a breaker/switch - they installed this big toggle switch and said that rockers were simply unavailable at any reasonable price ( <300 ). I bet there is a toggle breaker/switch with the right amperage that is functionally equivalent and available..

Hmm, I agree that any avionics shop should know what to replace it with.  I actually prefer the toggle switches compared to the rockers anyway...
