The June Mooney Breakfast Flight will take place this Sunday, June 26th at Cambridge-Dorchester Airport – KCGE.  We’ll arrive at 9:00 and will eat at “Kay’s at the Airport.”  Bring a friend all aircraft types are welcome.

Gas is $4.60 per gallon.  Part of the taxiway is closed.  If landing runway 34, use up the entire runway and you'll take the final turnoff to park.  If you are landing Runway 16, once you turnoff, you'll have part of the taxiway, but to get to the restaurant you'll have to back taxi past the closed taxiway and use the final turnoff at the end of the runway.

May was too busy and June almost ended – we’re back on track for our monthly breakfast flights!  We may even throw a lunch flight in the future.  Sorry for the short notice - but let's see who can fly out!

Weather looks good for Sunday.  Please let me know if you plan to attend so I can give the restaurant an accurate count.

The Monthly Mooney Breakfast Flights began with the Mooney Pilots at KGAI and has expanded to the entire Mid-Atlantic Region.  Each month a location in the Mid-Atlantic region will be chosen and a date will be set for the breakfast.  Breakfasts will typically be a 9:00 AM arrival.  I'll work to procure fuel discounts when possible.  Posts to MooneySpace and the NJ Mooney Pilots Group will be made as soon as possible.

Again, RSVP when you can!

Take care,

-Seth

FYI, the taxiway between the restaurant and the rest of the taxiway is closed for repair right now.

So, if landing 34 roll all the way to the end.  If landing 16 taxi back as far as you can on the taxiway and then back taxi on the runway for the last portion to the end.

The breakfast at Cambridge is fantastic.  We had a great turnout.  14 individuals (including Alex's two young children!).  Mainly the first 9 and then the final 5 in two different waves.

The ramp had a great showing of all sorts of aircraft as well, including a 1956 Meyers MAC-145 - very rare - only about 20 made.

I'll post some pictures shortly.

Here are some pictures - 7 of the first 9 who arrived.  Alex and Herb showed up in Alex's M20K with Alex's two young children just as everyone was leaving.

This is the Meyers MAC-145 that arrived during breakfast.  I've always liked the look of these aircraft.  Only 20 were produced.  It was put back into production in the early 2000's as the Micco SP-20 and SP-26.

I like the idea of a Meyers owning a Meyers.

My friend owned the prototype 145. Al Meyers modified it with a bigger tail and big Continental. The test pilot crashed it. Factory rebuilt it. I think it's still flying today. Highly overbuilt airplane. Too bad the Micco's didn't take off as well as they looked.
