Cwalsh7997 Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 Hey guys so the other day I was pulling back to the ramp after a usual flight and I pulled the mixture like usual to shutdown and it got a little lower rpm but still kept spinning?? It wouldn't shut off until I just turned it off by the mags? Quote
kmyfm20s Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 No Bueno! Hopefully it is as easy as simply adjusting the idle mixture control. 1 Quote
bonal Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 What was RPM when you pulled mixture. Did you goose the throttle with no effect. Not sure how it is with the FI but on my carb engine if I'm at low idle it sometimes can keep running. I always shut down at 1100 Quote
carl Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 what did you do about your starter, when you were stuck at airglades ? Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 POOR CUT-OFF Improper rigging of aircraft linkage to mixture control. Adjust. Mixture control valve scored or not seating properly. Eliminate cause of scoring (usually burr or dirt) and lap mixture control valve and plug on surface plate. 2 Quote

Guest Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 Start with the simple, sometime the plunger in the flow divider sticks. Any A & P should be able to open it and check it. Clarence Quote
PaulB Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 I had this same thing happen one time. Ended up killing it by turning the fuel off on the fuel selector. Couldn't replicate it again but ended up having my throttle and mixture linkages changed as they were the "old" style and apparently less reliable. Haven't had an issue with it since then. Quote
Shadrach Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 Opening the throttle would likely result in shutdown without using the mags. When is the last time the Servo was opened? There only a few things your A&P will do before sending it to the shop. Quote
cnoe Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 I once saw the same exact issue when the idle cut-off stop screw fell out of the servo screwing up the linkage adjustment. Everything was safety-wired except that one screw. It's easy to spot if you look at the servo on pilot side. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
