75_M20F Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 Any intel on who is still doing cowling mods? I have talked to Lopresti and that one is pretty expensive. I don't know the status of SWTA? Were they doing them recently before their owner passed? I see they will reopen Jan 01. Any Mooney shops doing them? What about the ARI? Is that one any good? My cowling is pretty beat up and I am planning on getting my M20F painted next year, so now would be the time. Thanks! Mike Quote
StinkBug Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 I'd wait for this one... http://mooneyspace.com/topic/14593-vintage-mooney-cowling-mod/ 2 Quote
Sabremech Posted December 10, 2015 Report Posted December 10, 2015 I personally think it's worth the wait, but I'm a little biased! David 3 Quote

carl Posted December 15, 2015 Report Posted December 15, 2015 HA ha , Maybe I'm behind you then. For clarity Sabermech should start a sign up sheet for these cowlings, a presale, preorder deal so we really know what number we are. 1 Quote

Sabremech Posted December 16, 2015 Report Posted December 16, 2015 Thanks guys for the support. Even though I'd like to know a number of people interested, I won't do a preorder or deposit for the reason that if I promise a delivery date and can't make it for any reason, it only makes for tough questions and upset or lost customers. I do plan to update as the project progresses and once I get to and through conformity, I'll then look to publish an availability date. Thanks again, David 1 Quote
Hank Posted December 16, 2015 Report Posted December 16, 2015 Thanks, David. I'm impressed by the progress, style and results of your after-work project. Much more than my own. . . . Quote
