oldn0tded Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 Anybody out there have one of these layin' around? Of course, it would be good if it were in better shape than mine. The pictures may not show it very well, but the lower corners on this one are pretty beat up. 1975 M20F, part #600050-501 Thanks in advance
Shadrach Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 Front cover of the nose gear wheel well. It really does not look that bad and it's not likely a used one will be much better. I'd stop drill any cracks and then prime, paint and reinstall. Probably available from Mooney for $$$. If you have a skilled homebuilder on the field, you might have one made.

I already have a call to Lasar, checking here just in case. Fabricating one, or adding doubler(s) to this are possibilities...
Guest Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 The lower firewall cover is made of stainless steel, find a good welder and weld the cracks. Clarence
oldn0tded Posted December 2, 2015 Author Report Posted December 2, 2015 All I gotta do is find a guy that can weld a feeler gauge..... Kiddin', that is another possibility....

Go see Mike Rooney at Chip Ganassi Racing...he can weld gum wrappers together Seriously, there will be a few really good fabricators in the Charleston area that can fix you up.
M20F-1968 Posted January 2, 2016 Report Posted January 2, 2016 FYI: Mooney Factory cost on this part is about $1000. John Breda

John Breda Jees a piece like that would have been a medium difficulty project back in 8th grade metal shop I really need to consider getting some fabrication tools and start making parts.

This is where flying a RV10 makes a lot of sense. You have factory support and plans.
M20F-1968 Posted February 1, 2016 Report Posted February 1, 2016 I dug around my extra parts after my rebuild and I have the part you are looking for. I have a good deal of stuff left over from my 13 year long project. I bought some stuff that I just did not end up using. Please e-mail me at john.breda@yahoo.com or call me at (617) 877-0025. Thanks, John Breda
