The finished product!

(I don't know why the Mooney logo embroidery looks kind of turquoise in this pic... must me the lighting? But they are definitely all a dark forest green to accent the plane)

I showed my wife the picture and she just shrugged her shoulders and said, "so what, beige seats?" I said look how nice they are, and she said they're just seats. Oh well, what can you do.

Sounds about right! Lol

Those seats look great! I've been thinking about having my interior re-done. This guy seems like he's worth exploring. Can he do the side/ceiling panels and the carpet as well?

He can do a complete interior... but it will definitely cost significantly more. For what it's worth, he was finishing up a full interior on an Aztec when I first flew in to meet him... and I remember him saying that it was something like $13k for that job. However, an Aztec is much larger, and has an extra row of seats.

Sorry....  I may have missed this but did that include Materials, (Covers and Foam) and Labor?

RIck

Price included everything.

Thanks. The price you listed for just the seats is a great price. I'll have to check this out as I get closer to being ready.

I had mine done for a little over $7k, carpeting, headliner, side panels, seat belts, seats; everything but glare shield which is in good shape, I had ashtrays removed and various holes and cracks repaired.

Was this from the same guy or a different place? If it was a different place, where did you go?

The headliner was covered in leather, the arm rest and dark grey trim on side panels is also leather, they painted the rest of the side panels, new cushions and carpeting of course. My glareshield and yokes are fine so they weren't touched. Took about 3 weeks. I have more pix and before pix on my laptop which I just uploaded to my gallery.
To keep the cost down I did not opt for any embroidery.

Speaking of interior stuff I'd like to ask you guys about something I'm looking for but can't seem to find.

It's that edge finish trim that goes on the edge of the interior plastics around the windows. Looks like a j or u channel or something similar. I don't know the proper term for it.

Do you know what I'm talking about?

Posted

I don't know the name of it either, but Plane Plastics in Alva OK has it. They have only white (I think), but ordinary rattle can paint sticks to it fine.

I've seen that Don. They call it window beading. Have you used it?

It appears too small or flimsy. The best way I can describe it is that I'm afraid it will conform to the shape of the edge of the interior plastic too much. It's what I have now.

I was hoping I could find something "beefier" that can really abut against the plexiglass and take up the occasional uneveness along the edge of the interior panels against the plexi for more finished and pleasing look.

Sorry I don't mean to hijack your thread xrs135! My apologies!

Yes, I have used it and it works and looks fine. It would be flimsy, but it wraps over the edge of the plastic panel and butts up to the window, so it can't go anywhere.

There are several names: door edge trim. U trim, U channel  .  I just left the old on and painted it with the panel, but it has hardened and shrunk so It would be nice to get something new.     http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=plastic+edge+trim&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Aplastic+edge+trim

If you went with a thicker than is on there now you may have to trim the panel
