MyNameIsNobody Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 It had been a while since I had visited (to complete online training) at the FAAsafety.gov site. Unfortunately so long that I had forgotten my e-mail and password. Problem was that I had not set up my security questions...so I had to receive an e-mail...after waiting a day I looked up Des Moines FSDO and called. Had to leave a message, but received a call within 30 minutes. Jim had me fixed up in about a minute. Next day I received about 10 different e-mails saying my password was reset ....Thankfully was easy to reset with my security questions. To make a long story longer my bi-annual flight review instructor requested that I do the online course in preparation for the review. I enjoyed taking the course and will be doing some more. Good information with exam to validate your retention of information. Just me, or do others do some of the training courses from time to time? Quote
ryoder Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 I tried to complete the runway course after seeing this but ran out of time. Great content though. Quote
MyNameIsNobody Posted May 8, 2015 Author Report Posted May 8, 2015 Not many Wings people in Mooneyspace apparently... Quote
Bennett Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 I generally attend 8 -10 Wings seminars every year (I have taught three in the last year). The San Carlos Flight Center sponsors many Wing program seminars each year.. Even ancient pilots like me can learn something new at these seminars. On the average, there are Wings seminars most Wednesday nights and noon on Saturday. These seminars are very well attended, and SCFC members can watch them on the internet if they can't attend in person. 1 Quote
mike_elliott Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 The FAA wings program is, in my opinion, one of the few things the FAA has dedicated funds that actually do some good for GA. Their online content is good, their seminars are usually real good, the ability to get a FR via wings credit is cool, and having a wings "gold star" in your folder if you ever get violated is priceless.
