So much to be thankful for. Two adult children working on their degrees, a wife of 30+ years employment, a Mooney and a mistress. My mistess is a co-owner who has a life (two young children and is an emergency room physician, so has no time for Mooneyspace). In over a year of our co-ownership we experienced our first "conflict" on scheduling the airplane. He is participating in a Mooney intense training...and I wanted to hunt birds...October in the North Woods chasing Woodcock and Grouse is something I live for...Weather did not permit flight and good bird hunting last weekend. I had a 6.5 hour drive to Northern Wisconsin vs. a 2 hour flight to D25...As I sat in traffic watching the sun sink lower the wonders of General Aviation and the priviledge of flight were a stark reminder of how fortunate I am. Sitting on my inlaws dock enjoying a fine cigar and a Jack I did not get the opportunity to "rate" a landing, but I smiled thinking how lucky I am to have a great co-owner. If not for our shared ownership a Mooney would not be sustainabe for my pay grade. My co-owner has treated me to two Chiefs games and several great golf excursions with clubs as rear seat passengers. Choose wisely and Mooney ownership is a "doable" excursion. A tired puppy, a good song on the i-pod and a woodland pair (Grouse-Woodcock). Life is Good. Excellent when flying vs. driving...Sometimes living the life of a "normal" human being reminds you how "good" you have it.

Thankful? You bet your ass I am.

As am I to be so blessed if for nothing else but to start life in the best country in history (my opinion) this is why I worry so much about the future of this nation (don't like the direction it's taken) I just hope I can fly for even half as long as so many of you have since I started late never really thought I would become a pilot much less own an airplane.

Yes thankful indeed.

My mistress is crafted from finely shaped aluminum, she has a weight problem (3600lbs) gulps 100LL like an addict, but makes up for it all with her 8 big jugs!

3600lbs  but I’m sure she has a long frame to spread it out and it probably one of the finest you will ever see.  The 8 big jugs well that just reminds me of a star wars film. ;)

Planes and outdoorsman are a natural fit. Outdoorsman are always going to the boonies to have fun. It always takes an long car ride or 2 layovers and a puddle jumper to get to your destination. After all that you drive past a very pleasant looking county airstrip as you notice your only 15 minutes away from your final destination.

You'll notice that I did not post her registration marks, after all she is a bit modest.

This thread took an udderly unexpected turn. Very funny. I am suddenly thirsty for a big jug of milk. Strange.

Scott,

With all this talk of milk and jugs are we meeting in Wisconsin?
