Mark89114 Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 What exactly differentiates the TSE from a "regular" 252. I haven't found the answer, I do know that the Encore is a little "souped" up. Or is it just marketing? Thank you and still looking. Mark Quote
KSMooniac Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 I have no idea, but it was probably a marketing distinction between different equipment levels. Hopefully moot by now after 20+ years of upgrades, though. The Encore is more than a little souped-up, with a 230 lb gross weight increase, + 10 hp, and the modern/nicer interiors if you get a factory Encore. All of the 252's can be upgraded to Encore status, but they would of course retain the original style interiors. Quote
chrisk Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 You would want to upgrade to get a higher gross. I looked at one with a useful load of 813 lbs and Monroy long range tanks. After putting 106 gallons in, I figured I would have to fly naked to stay under gross. --And I'm not a big guy. No room for a flight bag or anything else. Quote
Hank Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 I thought "MSE" was "Millenial a Special Edition" but have no idea what made it "special" other than the name. Perhaps it was built in 2000? Maybe just a marketing gimmick to attract attention? 1 Quote
carusoam Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 My MSE came before the new millennium. The MSE package has nice goo gaws, an IP full of stuff, back up stuff stored in the tail and overall full up plane. Does anyone really need speed brakes and rudder trim, a second vacuum system, and leather seats with that AP. Of course not. It didn't come with O2 or an anti ice system either. The coolest option wasn't available for a few years. TopProp and 310 hp... Just my thoughts, -a- 1 Quote
