aviatoreb Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 Erik, will you please update the pictures in the gallery, every time I open the webpage I see that bush covered in ice. I keep waiting for the ice to melt but it never does. Hi Tom, You ask and I comply! I just posted a new ice picture, from the same position. You see more ice, and then topped with a bit of snow at the end. It ice'ed through yesterday evening. 2.5'' in all of ice, then 1'' of snow on top. It took at least a half an hour to chip ice off my car with a screw driver to get in. Of course the plastic ice scraper was not up to the task. As I said, this is a major and unusual weather event. Worst ice storm since 1998 - which was worse. It is a miracle - so far - that we still have power, and internet, and LTE. And the wood stove is roarin' and I write you from the coach by the fire - its 74F in this room. See in the picture the trees branches are hanging low, and the power cables are hanging all under the weight of lots of ice. This afternoon its due to turn sunny then the temps will drop. I think it is safe to say that we have a White Christmas in the bag. P.S. My buddy who flies a King Air as a business just told me the airport is plowed but breaking action is nil. Surprise. So I doubt I will fly tomorrow as I had hoped.
