Hello:

I'm looking for a 2 blade prop for an F model. A good condition prop that I can overhaul or a overhauled one will do. Must have prop log and spinner.

Thank you

I am looking to change to a Hartzell top prop.

I have a 77 J with a McAuley prop with only 100 hours on it, the prop shop locally will take it in on trade but would consider selling outright.

Not sure if this will fit on your F model.

Jezzie,

I have a 3 blade mcauly with a 201 polished spinner. Overhaul was in oct 2011. Has less than 150hrs. Want to trade your two blade for my 3?

The 200 series McCauley on a J has to be matted with a Counter weighted Crankshaft. The A1A engine in the E&F does not have counter weights.

The Hartzell propellers can be bolted to both.

looking like alphabet soup !

for a certified aircraft, the type of propeller that can be used is very well defined.

for the type of propeller that can go on the Mooney series, look at the Mooney TCDS ( google search Mooney TCDS 2A3)

other props can be installed but it would require an STC. ( the hartzell for example)

some Props can be incompatible with other mods that may have made ( for example adding a turbocharger or a power flow)

The Hartzell STC can be downloaded off the net and can give a good description of the props than can be installed on the A to J series.

Experimentals is a different game

Ok I need to be more specific.

These Hartzell models are correct per TCDS:
Hartzell HC-C2YK-1 or HC-C2YR-1 hub, 7666-2 blades
Hartzell HC-C2YK-1B hub, 7666A-2 blades

Thank you OR75 and Cody Stallings.

one more thing: you may want to check whether those props have a recurrent AD on them

not a big deal but it can be if you don't have a shop nearby that can do the test.

eddy current test every year may be required ( not sure exactly which model) . plenty to read on that topic off then net.

The Eddy current inspection is every 100hrs, there is no Calender time anymore. If you wanna stay away from the AD, make sure the hub has a B in the serial number.
