flyboy0681 Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 A few weeks ago I noticed that the KAP 150 was not tracking the VOR in NAV mode nor the Localizer in APR mode. I pulled the computer out and shipped it to Mid-Continent for analysis and they reported that the unit is working perfectly. Unfortunately that's not what I wanted to hear. So now we have to hunt down the source of the problem. Once I get the unit back into the panel I'll jiggle the connectors behind the A/P tray as well as the HSI. The HSI is tracking the VOR and Localizer perfectly so the input into the unit is just fine. Any other ideas what the problem could be? Any words of wisdom? Quote
DAVIDWH Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Have same issues with KFC-150, including computer run through Tulsa and checked out ok. Only empathy, no words of wisdom. Quote

larryb Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 I had a self-test problem with my KAP100. My shop traced it to a bent pin in the tray connector not making good contact with the unit. I believe they found it with a visual inspection. So look carefully... Larry Quote
fantom Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Clean the HSI, or DG contacts. Didn't you have SA do some major work on your A/P a year or two ago? Quote
